Jones enters the cage unbeaten across his past 18 appearances, having compiled a 17-0 record with one no contest. The 35-year-old former light heavyweight champion has not fought since he took a five-round unanimous decision from Dominick Reyes at UFC 247 on Feb. 8, 2020—more than 1,100 days ago. Jones has delivered 16 of his 26 career victories by knockout, technical knockout or submission.
Gane, 32, owns an 8-1 record inside the Octagon, his lone loss the result of a failed encounter with onetime heavyweight titleholder Francis Ngannou a little more than a year ago. The MMA Factory export last competed at UFC Fight Night 209, where he wiped out Tai Tuivasa with punches in the third round of their Sept. 3 pairing. Gane holds wins over four current Top 15-ranked heavyweights: Tuivasa, Alexander Volkov, Jairzinho Rozenstruik and Derrick Lewis.
