6. Sarah Kaufman
Kaufman started her career 12-0, a run of success that included victories over Alexis Davis, Valerie Letourneau, Sarah Schneider, Miesha Tate and Shayna Baszler. She captured the Strikeforce women’s bantamweight championship with a unanimous decision over Takayo Hashi in February 2010 and successfully defended it with a slam knockout on Roxanne Modafferi five months later before surrendering the title to Marloes Coenen. The Victoria, British Columbia, native was 15-1 when she challenged Ronda Rousey in an attempt to reclaim the Strikeforce championship in 2012, tapping to an armbar from the American judoka. After a one-fight stop in Invicta Fighting Championships, Kaufman arrived in the UFC in October 2013. A split decision loss to Jessica Eye in her Octagon debut was later changed to a no-contest when after Eye failed a post-fight drug test. Kaufman then took a unanimous verdict from Leslie Smith at “The Ultimate Fighter Nations” Finale on April 16, 2014. Back-to-back defeats to Davis and Valentina Shevchenko have followed, and Kaufman has yet to appear inside the cage in 2016. At 30 years of age, she has plenty of time to right the ship and add to an already magnificent resume.
