A precision kickboxer who trained under the late Shawn Tompkins, Hominick ruled the TKO Major League MMA organization before taking turns in World Extreme Cagefighting, Affliction and the UFC.

Hominick made his Ultimate Fighting Championship debut at UFC 58 on March 4, 2006 and submitted Yves Edwards with a slick triangle choke in the second round. He went 9-4 across his next 13 appearances -- that stretch included wins over Jorge Gurgel, Bryan Caraway, Yves Jabouin and Leonard Garcia -- before returning to the UFC to stay in 2011. A first-round technical knockout of George Roop propelled Hominick into a title fight with featherweight champion Jose Aldo in the UFC 129 co-main event. He lost a unanimous decision to the Brazilian in front of more than 50,000 fans at the Rogers Centre in Toronto.

A three-time “Fight of the Night” award winner in the WEC and UFC, Hominick retired in 2012 following a unanimous decision loss to Pablo Garza at UFC 154. He closed out his career with a 20-12 record.
