This should be a solid litmus test for Elliott. “The Welsh
Gangster” was most notable for his charisma when he earned a
contract on Dana White’s Contender Series in 2023, as he put
together an unspectacular and workmanlike decision victory. That
about sums up Elliott inside the cage. He’s not a dynamic athlete
but has plenty of grit and cardio, and he usually does an
impressive job of fighting behind either a range striking game or a
grimy wrestling attack as the matchup allows. After Elliott
successfully turned back Valentine Woodburn in his UFC debut in
February, Parsons steps up as the next test to see exactly how far
the Shore MMA rep can take his approach. Parsons can do a little
bit of everything with some consistent aggression, but he does his
best work through wrestling and grappling; and while that usually
winds up with Parsons tiring himself out in the process, he does a
solid job of fighting through that exhaustion to try and get a win
over the finish line. Elliott might succeed in tiring him out and
turning the fight around late, but Parsons should be able to win
two rounds. It’s also hard to see Elliott pouring on enough late
offense to score a finish. Beyond that, Parsons might be able to
end this fight himself if he can effectively swamp Elliott out of
the gate. The pick is Parsons via second-round submission.
