Sean Woodson on Being Cornered by Girlfriend: ‘I'm Undefeated with Her in My Corner’
Sean Woodson believes that “a happy fighter is a dangerous fighter,” and results have been on his side thus far.
In his latest fights, Woodson (9-1, 3-1 UFC) has added a new member to his corner: a long-term girlfriend. Since that change, “The Sniper” has scored back-to-back victories in the Octagon. First he eked out a narrow split-decision victory over Youssef Zalal at UFC Fight Night 189, bouncing back from his first career defeat. Subsequently, the Wolves' Den Training Center representative stopped Collin Anglin with laser-sharp punches to the body in the opening frame of their UFC Fight Night 197 encounter. Woodson will now look to add another installment to his winning streak as he takes on Luis Saldana on Saturday’s UFC 278 preliminary card.
“It's going great so far. I'm undefeated with her in my corner, so it can't get much better than that. She's not gonna offer me any technical advice, you know what I'm saying? I just enjoy having her there with me the entire fight week, having her there at the hotel while I'm cutting, waiting and doing all the media stuff. She's been with me along for this whole ride, so I feel like it makes perfect sense to have her in my corner and there in fight week as well. A happy fighter is a dangerous fighter.”
