Sandra Lavado’s ‘Biggest Pride’ is Representing Peru on PFL Challenger Series
Sandra Lavado won’t rest until she reaches the top of the mountain by landing a contract on the Professional Fighters League Challenger Series.
Lavado (11-3) has a tough challenge in front of her as she’s scheduled to face Ultimate Fighting Championship alum Shanna Young at Friday’s Week 5 of PFL Challenger Series. “The Peruvian Zombie” has never shied away from a test. In what will be her second United States foray after her experience on Dana White’s Contender Series in August, Lavado feels eager to represent the Peruvian flag inside the Smart Cage. The PFL will inaugurate the women’s flyweight division in the 2023 Regular Season, and Lavado thinks she deserves a spot on the main roster.
“This is actually one of my biggest prides. I'm so happy to represent my country when I'm going into a fight. The two biggest things that I love to represent are my family and my flag. In life, there’s ups and downs and there's different hills that you have to climb, but keep on fighting, keep going for your goals. For me, I'll keep on fighting, representing my country until I reach the top.”
