Quemuel Ottoni Takes Great Confidence from Being the Only Man to Defeat Alex Pereira

Upcoming Professional Fighters League Challenger Series contestant Quemuel Ottoni is the only man to defeat current Ultimate Fighting Championship 185-pound kingpin Alex Pereira thus far in his relatively short MMA career.

Ottoni (12-3) is set to take on Jozef Wittner in the PFL Challenger Series' return on Jan. 27. Ahead of the fight, the former Jungle Fight welterweight titleholder takes great pride in having defeated “Poatan” back in October 2015, when he forced his foe to tap due to a rear-naked choke. Since their Jungle Fight 82 encounter, both athletes have taken different paths, with Pereira dedicating himself to kickboxing while Ottoni opted to move down a weight class and pursue the divisional title. Ottoni is currently riding a five-bout winning streak and will have the chance to showcase his skills in the United States for the first time.
