Blake Cooper Feels Excited about His One Championship Debut in Singapore

As a Hawaiian, Blake Cooper is used to traveling long distances for fights, but his upcoming debut for One Championship in Singapore has him feeling a mix of professional ambition, cultural curiosity, and the anticipation of personal and career growth.

Cooper (2-0) will take on Maurice Abevi in his first assignment in the Singapore-based promotion in the upcoming One on Prime Video 14 event. Cooper comes from a family with a long history in mixed martial arts, as the son of Ray Cooper and the brother of two-time Professional Fighters League titleholder Ray Cooper III. In his brief career, Cooper has already scored two finishes, including a submission victory in his MMA debut in Cage Warriors Fighting Championship. While speaking with Sherdog, Cooper acknowledged that signing with One is a significant step in his MMA journey, and he is ready to embrace the opportunities and challenges that come with it. By signing with ONE, Cooper knows he will gain exposure to a wider audience of MMA fans worldwide.

“For the sightseeing and the traveling, I'm kind of excited. It’s just a different country, and it's gonna be good, make a good experience for me to get out there. I'm just excited, man, training hard. I'm going there for one job, to fight, and that's it. I'm just focused on the fight, and I'm not really worried about anything else affecting me, not the flights and stuff. I think I should be fine. I traveled before, so it's not an issue, just a different country.”
