Ante Delija: Francis Ngannou is the Most Dangerous Fighter in the World
2022 Professional Fighters League heavyweight champion Ante Delija wants to lock horns with the recently-signed Francis Ngannou.
Delija (23-5, 7-2 PFL) might have a narrow window to make it to this year’s PFL playoffs and attempt to recapture the championship. “Walking Trouble” is still at zero points in the standings as his scheduled clash with Yorgan De Castro was canceled after Delija withdrew for undisclosed reasons. Now, the Croatian fighter is set to face Maurice Greene in the PFL 5 2023 Regular Season headliner on June 16. Ahead of his clash, Delija confessed he aims to confront former Ultimate Fighting Championship heavyweight titleholder Francis Ngannou, who recently signed with PFL and is looking for an opponent. According to Delija, capturing the heavyweight title twice would put him in a favorable spot to collide with Ngannou. Delija stated that fighting Ngannou is his biggest motivation, as he wants to face the best in the mixed martial arts game.
“The biggest motivation is fighting with Ngannou, of course. I think 100% Ngannou is the most dangerous fighter on this planet. I want to test myself against the best guys in the world, against the most dangerous guys. I just want to see how that plays out for me. I hope PFL gives me the opportunity to fight with him and to see who is the better man. I think that's the only way I could get the fight with Ngannou. He cleared the division in the UFC, so it's time for us to see how we handle him.”
