Adriano Moraes Aims for Second-Round Submission of Yuya Wakamatsu at ONE ‘X’
In a matter of hours, Adriano Moraes will put his One Championship flyweight belt on the line as he hopes to notch the second title defense of his third reign as the divisional kingpin. Moraes (19-3, 10-3 One) will face Yuya Wakamatsu in one of the most-anticipated clashes on Saturday’s One Championship “X” card. “Mikinho” has won six of his past seven bouts and made history after becoming the first fighter to finish Demetrious Johnson last April. On that occasion, Moraes wrecked his opponent with a grounded knee. Now, the Brazilian fighter would like to score a submission.
“Wakamatsu is a really tough guy. I expect he’s gonna come for this fight with everything he has. He has hands, he showed already why he’s a contender. He’s coming with a five-win streak and knows how to win a fight and knock out a guy, he likes to hunt. I expect him to give it all because I’m gonna give it all too. I’m looking forward to submitting him in the second round.”
