Radio: "The Natural" Talks UFC Return Against Sylvia
TJ De Santis and Sherdog.com editor Josh Gross are back for a big "Beatdown" on the Sherdog Radio Network. Joining them are fighters Randy Couture (Pictures) and Chris Lytle (Pictures), as well as manager Monte Cox.
Saturday night in Columbus, Ohio, Randy "The Natural" Couture will look to add another milestone to his list of accomplishments during a storied mixed martial arts career. "The Natural" faces UFC heavyweight champion Tim Sylvia (Pictures) after a year's retirement, which he says was more like a layoff. Randy talks about the upcoming title bout, his preparation, and what he feels he needs to do to defeat the 6-foot-8 "Maine-iac."
Lytle will also be stepping in to battle at UFC 68. Coming off of a split decision loss to Matt Serra (Pictures) at The Ultimate Fighter 4 finale, Lytle looks to get on the winning track against former UFC welterweight champion Matt Hughes (Pictures). Lytle talks about facing the former king at 170 pounds, his game plan, and how he feels he will manage should he find himself on the bottom of Hughes' vaunted ground-and-pound.
A man familiar with Hughes is his manager Monte Cox. One of the busiest guys in MMA, Cox finds some time to talk with TJ and Josh about the four fighters he has on the UFC 68 card. Monte breaks down the matches he has setup for his guys, including the comebacks of Matt Hughes (Pictures) and former UFC middleweight champion Rich Franklin (Pictures).
TJ and Josh read listener e-mail and break down this weekend's UFC card in Ohio.
