"Cro Cop" Fodder? Sanchez Joins Beatdown
After a week away, TJ De Santis and Sherdog.com editor Josh Gross return with a new edition of "Beatdown" on The Sherdog Radio Network. Monday's show is loaded as Bas Rutten (Pictures), Chris Horodecki (Pictures) and Eddie Sanchez join the show.
Sanchez will face one of the best heavyweights in the world this Saturday when he faces 2006 PRIDE Open-Weight Grand Prix champion Mirko Filipovic (Pictures) in the Croatian's UFC debut. The hefty underdog talks about what it's like preparing to fight someone he looks upon as an idol, and how he feels he matches up with "Cro Cop."
"El Guapo" Bas Rutten (Pictures) is a legend in the sport of mixed martial arts. From his days as King of Pancrase to UFC heayweight champion and his role as a commentator for the PRIDE Fighting Championships, Bas has always kept himself busy.
Rutten joins TJ and Josh to talk about his Los Angeles Anacondas International Fight League squad, which takes on the Quad Cities Silverbacks this Friday in Houston. Bas discusses the addition of Benji Radach (Pictures) to his team, Anacondas assistant coach Shawn Tompkins (Pictures), and why he feels this clash represents the true finals of the IFL's 2006 season.
Chris Horodecki (Pictures) is an exciting lightweight out of Canada who boasts an undefeated record in mixed martial arts. February 2nd in Houston the 19-year-old steps up against Bart Palazewski. The youngest fighter in the IFL joins De Santis and Gross to discuss the upcoming bout, his IFL team, and how he handles fighting professionally while still focusing on school.
