There’s a new queen atop Invicta Fighting Championships’ atomweight division.
Elisandra Ferreira de Oliveira captured the promotion’s vacant 105-pound belt with a five-round verdict against Andressa Romero in the Invicta FC 57 main event at Memorial Hall in Kansas City, Kansas, on Friday night. It was the fourth consecutive victory under the Invicta FC banner for “Lili” — and her most significant in more ways than one. In addition to earning some championship hardware, the 26-year-old Brazilian moves into the atomweight Top 10 at No. 6 after besting an opponent who was just one bout removed from an upset victory against Saori Oshima. Romero, meanwhile, falls one spot to seventh in defeat.
