Sean Strickland might be the middleweight contender the Ultimate Fighting Championship never wanted, but he cannot be ignored any longer.
Strickland earned his sixth consecutive triumph in the UFC Fight Night 200 main event at the UFC Apex in Las Vegas on Saturday night, taking a split-decision triumph over Jack Hermansson — and it wasn’t even that close. The California native hasn’t lost a professional fight at 185 pounds, and he appears to be nearing the front of the line in the division. Thanks to his win over Hermansson, Strickland climbs from 11th to seventh in Sherdog.com's latest rankings. Hermansson, who has lost three of his last five Octagon appearances, falls to eighth.
