RUFF Signs Two Russian Stand Outs

(PRESS RELEASE) -- The Ranik Ultimate Fighting Federation is continually adding to the RUFF roster and recently has started signing top prospects from other countries in the region, including Russia and Mongolia.

RUFF has signed Russian Bantamweight prospect Azamat Gashimov who will be bringing a high level Sambo background into RUFF’s Bantamweight division at RUFF 12. Also making his RUFF debut is young Sambo fighter Shamil Magomedov. Both fighters training in Dagestan with top Lightweight Khabib Nurmagomedov.

Azamat Gashimov started off in Sambo where he found much success and continued his dominance when he made the transition over to mixed martial arts, fighting throughout Russia. Gashimov boasted a very impressive 7-1 record before entering the UFC and losing both his two fights to very tough and highly ranked opponents. Now Azamat Gashimov has joined RUFF to show that he is the real deal and wants to leave a mark on RUFF’s Bantamweight division. Azamat is as motivated as ever and is excited for his RUFF debut.

Shamil Magomedov is only 20 years old but has shown great potential in his Sambo competitions. Shamil has recently made the transition from Sambo over to mixed martial arts. Shamil is only 20 years old but has a lot of combat experience already. Magomedov started wrestling when he was in grade school. Soon after Shamil transitioned over to Sambo, training with top MMA lightweight Khabib Nurmagomedov. Shamil fought and won many Sambo tournaments as a youth including 1st place at the youth European Championships and a year later taking 2nd in the adult division. In 2013 Shamil won the Combat Sambo Championship of Russia and then came in 2nd in the World Championship. Now Shamil Magomedov wants to have the same success with MMA inside the RUFF cage.
