(PRESS RELEASE) -- LOS ANGELES – AXS TV FIGHTS delivered another great night of action as Resurrection Fighting Alliance middleweight contender Jake Collier (8-1) and undefeated Gabriel Checco (7-1) duked it out in the main event for the vacant middleweight title. The fight ended in the first round with Collier handing Checco his first ever defeat by way of rear naked choke hold and claiming the middleweight belt.
Results from the televised main card are as follows:
· Middleweight title fight: Jake Collier (8-1) defeats Gabriel Checco (7-1) via submission (rear naked choke) at 4:27 minutes in round one.
· Bantamweight fight: Abel Cullum (20-6) defeats Carl Deaton III (8-2) via submission (rear naked choke) at 3:43 minutes in round two.
· Bantamweight fight: Marvin Blumer (11-4) defeats Junior Maranhao (9-4) via submission (guillotine choke) at 0:43 minutes in round three.
· Featherweight fight: Dan Moret (7-1) defeats Jordan Griffin (8-4) via submission (rear naked choke) at 3:09 minutes in round one.
· Strawweight fight: Jocelyn Jones-Lybarger (4-1) defeats Rebecca Ruth (2-1) via decision (split).
· Bantamweight fight: Matt Brown (9-4) defeats John Castaneda (5-2) via decision (split.
Legacy Fighting Championship takes center stage next week on AXS TV FIGHTS, Friday, Oct. 17 at 10pE/7pP, headlined by heavyweight fighter Cody East (8-1) as he looks to extend his five-fight winning streak versus Vernon Lewis (4-2), who has finished each of his last four opponents inside of two rounds.
