Fight Network Presents WSOF 25 LIVE & Golden Boy: De La Hoya vs. Delgado this Friday, Nov. 20

(PRESS RELEASE) -- Toronto – Fight Network, the world’s premier 24/7 television channel dedicated to complete coverage of combat sports, presents exciting back-to-back cards this Friday, Nov. 20, beginning at 11 p.m. ET with a live broadcast of WSOF 25: 8-Man Lightweight Tournament from Comerica Theatre in Phoenix, Ariz.

Immediately following the live event, Fight Network presents a short tape delay presentation of Golden Boy LIVE from The Joint at Hard Rock Hotel & Casino in Las Vegas, as the city gets geared up for Saturday’s megafight between Miguel Cotto and Canelo Alvarez. Airing exclusively on Fight Network’s Canadian feed, the Golden Boy card is headlined by a clash for the WBC Youth super bantamweight title between Diego De La Hoya (12-0) and Giovanni Delgado (15-3). Other featured bouts include Horacio Garcia (29-1) vs. Raul Hidalgo (24-13) at featherweight, John Karl Sosa (13-0) vs. Alan Sanchez (16-3-1) at welterweight, and Roy Tapia (11-0-2) vs. Erik Ruiz (14-4) at super bantamweight.

Meanwhile, the WSOF 25: 8-Man Lightweight Tournament extravaganza will be televised live across Canada and globally in over 30 countries across Europe, Africa and the Middle East. The show is headlined by the first one-night, eight-man tournament in World Series of Fighting history. The four-fight live telecast will feature two semifinal stage tournament bouts and conclude with the tournament’s championship round showdown. The non-tournament, lightweight co-main event contest between Jason High (18-5) and Estevan Payan (16-8) will take place between the conclusion of the second semifinal stage and the championship round fight. The quarterfinal bouts will stream live on WSOF.com and they will feature eight of the world’s top 155-pound fighters, as Luis Palomino (23-11) squares off with Rich Patishnock (6-2), Brian Foster (23-7) collides with streaking Joao Zeferino (18-6), wrestling and submission ace Brian Cobb (20-8) battles Firas Zahabi-trained BJJ brown belt Mike Ricci (10-4), while Islam Mamedov (12-1) puts his phenomenal winning streak on the line against judo and BJJ black belt Jorge Patino (38-15-2, 1NC). The winner of the quarterfinal stage bout between Palomino and Patishnock will meet the winner of the fight between Foster and Zeferino, and the winner of the matchup between Cobb and Ricci will face the winner of the bout between Mamedov and Patino in the other semifinal.

Fight Network’s blockbuster weekend of live events continues on Saturday morning. Kicking off on Nov. 21 at 6 a.m. ET exclusively on Fight Network’s Canadian feed, ONE Championship returns to Beijing, China for a live broadcast of ONE: Dynasty of Champions. In the main event, Jadamba Narantungalag (10-3) puts his ONE featherweight title on the line against unbeaten Russian berserker Marat Gafurov (12-0). In the second championship pairing, Brazilian Adriano Moraes (13-1) defends his ONE flyweight title against surging Kazakh prospect Kairat Akhmetov (22-0). Other bouts include Jeff Huang (5-2) vs. Trestle Tan (3-4) and Burenzorig Batmunkh (1-2) vs. Nikolay Aleksakhin (15-3) at welterweight, Li Wei Bin (2-0) vs. Yayong Wang (1-1) in a clash of Chinese flyweights, plus a trio of all-China featherweight bouts, including Burigede Alateng (0-4) vs. Sen Yang (0-0), Jia Cia Zhang (0-0) vs. Feilong Cai (0-1) and Jia Wen Ma (1-1) vs. Ya Wei Wang (2-1).

Later at 3:30 p.m. ET, Fight Network presents a live broadcast of Enfusion 35 kickboxing from Groningen, Netherlands, which airs live in the U.S. on Cablevision’s Optimum TV, Suddenlink Communications, Grande Communications, Shentel Cable and Armstrong Cable, nationwide in Canada and Roku devices across North America. In the featured attraction, the Enfusion -67kg championship is up for grabs when Morocco’s Ilias Bulaid meets Spain’s Edye Ruiz. In other action, Ukrainian standout Artur Kyshenko faces Moroccan Hicham El Gaoui at -80kg, Patrick Veenstra and Fabio Kwasi cross paths in an all-Dutch -95kg showdown, Iran’s Kamran Aminzade takes on Morocco’s Mohamed Boubkari at -95kg, Romania’s Andrei Ostrovanu collides with Morocco’s Mohammed Jaraya at -70kg, Dutchman William Diender battles Turkish export Tayfun Ozcan at -72.5kg, and Lorena Klijn fights Mellony Geugjes in a showcase of Dutch -54kg female prospects.

Finally, airing live exclusively in Canada at 8 p.m. ET, Fight Network presents the live UFC Fight Night™: Magny vs. Gastelum prelims. In the featured prelim, Mexican bantamweight fan favorite Erik Perez (14-6) welcomes 23-year-old Frenchman Taylor Lapilus (10-1) into enemy territory. In other action, Mexico’s Hector Urbina (17-8) clashes with Poland’s Bartosz Fabinski (12-2) in a welterweight duel, former WEC title challenger Scott Jorgensen (15-11) looks to bounce back from a two-fight skid against Mexico’s Alejandro Perez (16-6) in a bantamweight bout, plus The Ultimate Fighter Latin America semifinalist Gabriel Benitez (18-5) competes on his home turf against fellow featherweight prospect Andre Fili (14-3). The main card airs live on TSN1 at 10 p.m. ET. Fight Network’s one-hour UFC® Fight Night Monterrey Pre-Show, which features previews, predictions and analysis for the event, will serve as a lead-in to the live prelims.

In addition to all the live events, Fight Network is the destination for UFC library content, specials and series, including UFC Unleashed, UFC Now, UFC Ultimate Insider and classic UFC PPV events.

This Sunday, Nov. 22 at 9 p.m. ET, catch a full encore presentation of UFC 118: Edgar vs. Penn 2 from August 2010 in Boston, Mass., headlined by a UFC lightweight championship rematch between Frankie Edgar and B.J. Penn. The event also features a memorable showdown between former two-division champion Randy Couture and debuting pro boxer James Toney.
