(PRESS RELEASE) -- One of Europe's leading fighting sports promotions, Final Fight Championship, will hold its 16th event December 6 in Vienna, Austria. The upcoming event will be filled with probably the most spectacular matches in one evening that FFC ever offered to its audience. FFC 16 with its 14 top matches will take place in Austria's most modern multipurpose hall - Multiversum Schwechat!
The MMA part of the event will be headlined by Austria's biggest MMA star and former UFC fighter Nandor Guelmino who will step into the FFC ring against Croatia's best heavyweight, Maro Perak. After a very successful career in different European promotions, Nandor got a shot in Strikeforce and later in the UFC as well. However, his last two defeats against Barnett and Omielanczuk forced him to return home. The match against Perak will be his first match since 2013.
On the other hand, The Croatian fighter coming from Dubrovnik had his last match at Final fight Championship 4 in Zadar, Croatia, where he defeated Tibor Vad Joni from Hungary. Despite the fact that he announced his return to light heavyweight division, Perak will fight “The Hun” as heavyweight. “The Gladiator” has an impressive professional score of 23 wins and 3 losses.
No less interesting will be Italy's biggest MMA star, Alessio Sakara's FFC debut. “Legionarius” is to fight excellent Polish fighter Maciej Browarski in light heavyweight division. The Italian fighter does not need a special introduction being a veteran of the world's strongest MMA organization. He spent eight years in the UFC where he fought some of the biggest names of the middleweight category. When FFC leaders introduced Sakara to the public as a new member of the FFC roster, the Italian fighter clearly stated his goal was return to the prestigious MMA organization and a spectacular performance in FFC might bring him just what he desires. His first test will not be easy at all since Browarski is an excellent fighters and one of the biggest surprises the FFC ever saw. At FFC 4 in Zadar, Croatia, he brutally knocked Jason Jones out.
Marcin Prachnio and Lemmy Krušič to return, Dragan Peišič and Kristijan Perak to debut
Among the other MMA matches worth mentioning is definitely the one between the young Dutchman of Polish origins, Marcin Prachnio, who will fight against the Austrian fighter of Serbian origins, Aleksandar Rakić. Moreover, recent lightweight division title challenger Lemmy “The Dog” Krušič will have to face another difficult task in a match against the Austrian star Phillip Schranz.
Bosnian fighter from Banja Luka with occasional residence in London, Dragan “The Little Wonder“ Pešić will also have his debut FFC match at this event. He is to face an extremely dangerous challenge as he steps into the ring with the biggest Austrian MMA prospect – Darko Banović. So far, Pešić fought for prestigious British promotions such as UCMMA and BAMMA, while Banović had a 1-1 score in FFC so far. He beat Matija Blažević but was defeated by Francisco “Croata” Barrio.
Moreover, this event will include the FFC debut of Maro Perak's brother, Kristijan Perak. In the Austrian capital he will fight against Adin Buljubašić in the middleweight category.
“The Albanian Warrior” in the hunt for FFC middleweight title
The kickboxing part of the FFC 16 event will be no less spectacular as it will be headlined by the inaugural middleweight title match. “The Albanian Warrior” Shkodran Veseli is one of the title candidates while the name of his opponent is to be revealed in the next couple of days. The Austrian audience will most definitely be interested in the farewell match of Austria’s biggest fighting star – Fadi Merza. The legendary Austrian fighter with more than 150 professional matches chose to fight his farewell bout in the Final Fight ring this December after more than 20 years of successful career.
Vienna will also see the return of one of the biggest kickboxing stars, Dževad “BH Machine” Poturak. After a brutal defeat he suffered from Igor Jurković in Poreč, Croatia, as well as some health issues he dealt with in the meanwhile, this K-1 WPG 2012 semi-finalist no so long ago knocked out Abdarhmane Coulibaly from France which was a clear sign he is ready for more difficult tasks. In recent months Poturak got back in top shape while FFC 16 will probably be his stage and return to the international kickboxing scene.
Among other noteworthy participants of the FFC 16 event is definitely one of the most attractive FFC fighters, Stevan Živković from Serbia. In Vienna he is to face excellent Armenian fighter Grigor Asughbabyan after he was KO'ed in the FFC ring by Skhodran Veseli.
It should be noted that FFC 16 will also include a women's boxing match. Austrian boxer Nicole Wesner will fight for the WIBF title on her home ground. The match will begin at 7PM, while the official FFC program starts at 8 PM.
