CWFC 46: Kraniotakes v Poberezhets

(PRESS RELEASE) -- CAGE WARRIORS is pleased to announce another massive heavyweight bout for February, with Andreas Kraniotakes to take on Dmitry Poberezhets at CWFC 46 in Kiev, Ukraine on February 23.

Kraniotakes (12-5-0) will return to the cage for the first time since losing to UFC veteran Tim Sylvia in November. The 30-year-old German recorded CWFC victories over Jay Mortimore and Dave Keeley last year and ten of his 12 professional victories have come in the first round.

Poberezhets (10-4-1), of the renowned Combat Dobro team, will have strong local support as he makes his Cage Warriors debut in his hometown of Kiev. The 26-year-old, a pankration world champion, is a veteran of seven ProFC fights.

“I’m delighted to have Andreas Kraniotakes back on a Cage Warriors card, especially after his recent fight in the US,” said Cage Warriors matchmaker Ian Dean. “He impressed on both occasions he fought on our show and has become a fan favourite here at Cage Warriors.

Dmitry Poberezhets has a big opportunity to showcase himself on the international stage after some impressive performances in ProFC. Like Kraniotakes, he’s a well-versed and dangerous competitor and has some excellent training partners in the Combat Dobro camp.

“He’ll also have the local support on his side. I think will is another excellent showcase for the European heavyweight scene and I’m proud to have it at Cage Warriors on February 23.”

The bout is the latest heavyweight clash to be added to the Cage Warriors schedule for February. Just days before CWFC 46 in Ukraine, Rogent Lloret will take on Bobby Brents and Jay Mortimore will face Eddy Bengtsson at CWFC 45 in London on February 18.
