Britto vs. Hervey completes The Score Fighting Series line-up

(PRESS RELEASE) -- TORONTO, October 10th, 2012 –The Score Fighting Series (SFS) today announced the final main card bout for its Friday, October 19th event, with a lightweight match-up between grappler Jorge Britto and striker Tony Hervey completing the card at the RBC Centre in Sarnia.

Britto (12-8) has a second degree BJJ black belt under Saulo Ribeiro and is currently a lead instructor at Toronto BJJ. He is native of Rio de Janeiro, Brazil where he trained with some of the biggest names in MMA and BJJ including Shogun Rua, Anderson Silva, Vitor Belfort and Helio and Royler from the legendary Gracie family.

After putting together a four-fight win streak Britto dropped two-in-a-row, although both defeats were to very high calibre opponents. The first came against current UFC competitor Jason Young in one of the most incredible back-and-forth fights ever seen at an SFS event. Young was picked up by the UFC immediately after. The second loss was to top ranked Canadian lightweight Kurt Southern as part of the SFS in June 2011.

Since those defeats, Britto has taken some time-out to work on his striking and conditioning and is determined to come back better than ever. "All I can say that is I'm working my butt off to get that win," he said. "Hervey better come ready for a war because that's what I am bringing to the cage."

Hervey (14-12) is the current King of the Cage Junior Welterweight Champion and is coming off a win over Buddy Clinton. The Detroit native is a dynamic striker with 70 per cent of his wins coming by T/KO. He currently trains out of Body Lab & The Fitness Academy. The fans in Sarnia will remember Hervey for an entertaining battle with Jesse Ronson in December 2011.

Hervey said: "I see my fight against Jorge Britto the same as all the others. Win, lose or draw, I'm going to fight you as if I have nothing left to lose."

The complete fight card is:
