BAMMA 22 Preview

(PRESS RELEASE) The European leaders in MMA are making their long awaited debut on the Emerald Isle with BAMMA 22 set for the 3 Arena in Dublin this autumn.

Top of the bill is the huge Featherweight Title fight between champion Tom Duquesnoy and challenger Brendan Loughnane. Duquesnoy rejected a move to America earlier this year and decided to re-sign with BAMMA.

With Duquesnoy rated as one of the top global MMA prospects, his fight against Loughnane has everybody talking. Loughnane, the 25-year-old challenger from Manchester has stated that he is only interested in big fights and it doesn’t get much bigger than Duquesnoy.

In the co-main event recently dubbed MMA’s ‘Housewives Favourite’, Dubliner Chris Fields will also make his second appearance on BAMMA. Fields was unable to see off Chieck Kone earlier this year on his debut at BAMMA 18 and will be looking to make sure he gets back on the winning track.

To be fair to 32-year-old Fields it was his first fight in two years and Kone has gone on to show his class by beating Andy DeVent for the middleweight title at BAMMA 21. Fields, however, will be looking to improve upon his 10-6-1 record when he meets Frenchman Christopher Jaquelin in front of the fans in his home town.

Another fight to keep an eye will be the battle of the Jacks as McGann takes on Grant. This bout is building nicely with both fighters promising to teach the other one a lesson and has added flavour with Grant being a friend and sparring partner of Marc Diakiese - the only man to beat McGann.

Elsewhere Tim Wilde makes his return to BAMMA after two years away from the promotion. Wilde is building a solid record (6-1) and will hope to throw his name into the bustling hat of challengers in the lightweight division when he takes on Ireland’s Philip Mulpeter at BAMMA 22. Mulpeter, a training partner of Conor McGregor, has had mixed results so far in his career notching up seven wins against five defeats. However, with the quality of opponents faced he promises to be a next level opponent for Wilde. With so many fighters aiming for champion Mansour Barnaoui, Wilde and Mulpeter will want to stake their own claims.

That is just a taste of BAMMA 22’s card which is bulging with talent. Add to the mix Diakiese first title defence and Alan Philpott versus Regis Sugden battling it out for the BAMMA Lonsdale British Bantamweight crown and it’s easy to see why this event is creating so much hype.
