ALABAMA FIGHTER MATT ELKINS SET TO FIGHT TYLER HILL ON NOVEMBER 23

(PRESS RELEASE) -- Alabama will be invading V3Fights on November 23
at Minglewood Hall. Whether it’s the main event fight, the co-main
event, a V3Fights’ veteran, or a debut, the state of Alabama will
be well represented on this card. One of these fighters from the
great state of Alabama, Matthew
Elkins, will be stepping into the V3 cage for the very first
time.
Elkins hails from Trussville, AL and is currently 6-1 and trains out of Spartan Fitness in Birmingham. He grew up a wrestler and competed on the collegiate level at Newberry College. However, before the start of his sophomore season, he left school and a friend of his had asked him to try jiu-jitsu. At first he was reluctant to go because of his proud wrestling background, but he tried it out that night in a garage and was instantly hooked. He now holds a blue belt in that discipline and jiu-jitsu then led him to MMA where he is one of the most dangerous ground fighters around.
On November 23, he will have his hands full with former lightweight
champion, Tyler “Zombie” Hill. When asked about his upcoming fight,
here is what Elkins had to say: “I’m excited to fight Tyler Hill.
Obviously the name of the game is to fight the best and climb the
ladder to the top. Tyler has proven himself to be a viscous
competitor, so it only makes sense to fight him. I feel that we
have different styles that we are both very confident in. He
probably feels that he has the advantage on the feet, and I on the
ground. However, with two well-rounded fighters like ourselves, the
fight will have to speak for itself. I think fight fans win with
this matchup. Whether a nine second knockout or nine minutes of
hell, I assure you that people will be getting their money’s worth
out of this one!”
