Video: Boxing Legend Mike Tyson Roughs Up Antagonistic Passenger on Flight
It appears that some people still do not realize it is not wise to mess with former heavyweight boxing king Mike Tyson.
On Thursday morning, TMZ released video footage of Tyson (50-6, 2 NC; 44 KOs) on a JetBlue flight engaging in an altercation with a passenger. According to the outlet, Tyson was on the flight late Wednesday night, traveling from San Francisco to Florida. The passenger, a person whom TMZ later stated was “extremely intoxicated,” was allegedly harassing Tyson while boarding.
Per a witness, Tyson was initially gracious with his time and allowed those to take photographs with him and speak with him. The passenger continued to interact with Tyson, and he filmed a video of his excitement sitting behind the legendary knockout artist. “Iron Mike” then reportedly told the passenger to calm down and leave him be, and the passenger did not relent. At this time, Tyson appeared to spin around and started punching the passenger in the head, doing enough damage to draw blood and require the passenger to receive medical attention.
Shortly after the fracas, the 55-year-old Tyson departed the plane instead of remaining on the flight. The passenger has since gone to the police about the incident, and TMZ stated that the San Francisco Police Department are aware of the situation and have detained a pair of people allegedly involved. The police statement included that a person was treated for “non-life-threatening injuries” while also “[refusing] to cooperate further with the police investigation.” The police do have a copy of the video, and the local Sheriff’s office has also received it. No charges have currently been filed.
