Venator FC 3 Update: 20-Fight Card Includes 6 Title Bouts, Numerous Big-Show Veterans

Though still more than a month away, the fight card for Venator FC 3 looks to have reached capacity with an enormous 20-bout lineup.

Venator Fighting Championship on Monday released an updated bill for the event, which takes place May 21 at PalaSesto in Milan, Italy. Set to headline the show is a welterweight title fight between former World Series of Fighting titlist Rousimar Palhares and Norwegian slugger Emil Weber Meek.

The card’s previously announced main attraction, in which former UFC fighter Luke Barnatt will defend his Venator middleweight belt against Jason “Mayhem” Miller, will now fill the co-main event slot.

More than half a dozen other veterans of the UFC and Bellator MMA are slated to compete on the 10-fight main card. Rameau Thierry Sokoudjou and Matt Hamill will meet in a 205-pound contest, while Karl Amoussou and Simeon Thoresen square off at 170 pounds. Ex-UFC talents Igor Araujo and Che Mills will take on Italian opposition in Marvin Vettori and Roberto Rigamonti, respectively.

Venator’s vacant light heavyweight strap will be on the line when Northern Ireland’s Karl Moore tangles with Pietro Cappelli.

Preceding the international card will be a 10-fight “national card” featuring all Italian competitors. Amongst the preliminary offerings are three championship matchups: Leonardo Zecchi vs. Alessandro Botti at lightweight, Cristian Binda vs. Davide Baneschi at bantamweight, and Stefan Croitoru vs. Mattia Schiavolin at featherweight.

While a stateside broadcast for the show has not been announced, Venator officials tell Sherdog.com that the organization is currently evaluating possibilities for streaming the show to U.S. viewers.
