UFC on Fox 3 Referees, Judges Assigned; Keith Peterson to Officiate Diaz-Miller Main Event

Referee and judging assignments have been made for UFC on Fox 3, which takes place May 5 at the Izod Center in East Rutherford, N.J.

Overseeing the headlining lightweight attraction between Jim Miller and Nate Diaz will be referee Keith Petersen; judges Romulo Bittencourt, Jeff Blatnick and Dave Tirelli will score the contest. Sherdog.com recently confirmed the assignments with the New Jersey State Athletic Control Board.

The event marks the Las Vegas-based promotion’s second effort on Fox in 2012 and also features a welterweight affair between hard-hitting wrestlers Josh Koscheck and Johny Hendricks. Kevin Mulhall will referee that bout, while Blatnick, Ricardo Almeida and Cardo Urso will decide the fight’s winner should it go the distance.

Bittencourt, Tirelli and Tony Tamburrino will judge Alan Belcher’s middleweight clash with Rousimar Palhares, while Almeida, Urso and Michael DePasquale Jr. score Pat Barry’s heavyweight bout against Lavar Johnson. Dan Miragliotta will serve as the third man in the cage for both contests.

Officials have also been assigned to the preliminary card, which airs on Fuel TV and Facebook prior to the main draw broadcast:
