Julio Arce vs. Julian Erosa

Round 1

The first fight of the night is a featherweight bout between Julio Arce and Julian Erosa. The referee for the evening’s opening contest is Keith Peterson. They touch gloves and we are underway. It’s a tepid start to the fight as both men are looking to find their range. Kick to the body by Erosa lands. We are nearly two minutes in and Arce hasn’t landed a strike yet. Erosa with a left hook and Arce returns with one of his own. Jab by Arce. Low kick by Erosa and both men exchange hooks up close. Erosa with a push kick. Erosa with a counter right hook that lands. Arce lands a jab. A straight left by Arce lands. Jab by Arce. Erosa lands a kick to the body and they clinch up against the fence. They break. Left hook by Erosa. A nasty uppercut by Erosa lands by Arce plows forward. Erosa with a left hook. He lands a head kick. Arce returns with a left hook of his own. Head kick by Arce lands now but Erosa eats it. Erosa with a kick to the body that Arce catches and he uses it to throw Erosa to the mat right before the end of the round.

Round 2

Round two begins. Arce moves forward with a left hook. They exchange kicks to the body. Both men are starting this round much more aggressively. The southpaw Arce lands a brutal right hook that Erosa eats. Kick to the body by Erosa but Arce blocks it. Arce lands a head kick that Erosa deflects. Erosa throws a left and right hook but Arce uses head movement to evade both strikes. Straight left by Arce lands. Right hook by Erosa lands but it was very sloppy. Arce lands a push kick to the body. They clinch up briefly but break. Erosa with a right hook. Head kick by Erosa just misses connecting. Arce returns fire with a counter left hook. Low kick by Arce. Erosa returns with one of his own. Arce with a straight left. Erosa looks for a double leg takedown but Arce stuffs it. Arce with a right hook and then a teep kick. Jab by Arce and then a left straight. They clinch up briefly but break. Erosa shoots for another double leg takedown but Arce stuffs it. They finish the round clinching up against the fence.

Round 3

The third and final round begins. They touch gloves. Arce lands a brutal head kick but Erosa eats it. Erosa continues to march forward. He just misses landing a right hook as once again Arce shows off some excellent head movement. Straight left by Arce. He lands a brutal left hook to the chin of Erosa, who once again eats it. Erosa with a straight right of his own. Low kick by Erosa but he drops his hands and Arce returns fire with a left hook followed up quickly by a brutal left high kick right to the chin. Erosa falls down to the mat and the referee jumps in and stops the fight, but not before Arce lands a brutal hammerfirst to his knocked out foe. What a knockout by Arce to start the night!

Zak Cummings vs. Trevin Giles

Round 1

Up next is a middleweight bout between Zak Cummings and Trevin Giles. The referee is Todd Anderson. They touch gloves and the fight begins. Kick to the body right away by Giles. Cummings lands a straight left. Left hook by Giles. Cummings with another straight left that just misses. Low kick by Cummings. Giles explodes forward with a straight right. Nasty kick to the body by Cummings lands. Cummings with a low kick. Giles just misses a right hook. Straight left by Cummings. Giles with the jab. The crowd starts “wooing!” and Giles “woos!” himself. That was fun, but maybe he should focus on the fight. Cummings just misses landing a left hook and Giles clinches up with him along the fence. Giles stuffs the body lock takedown attempt by Cummings and the round is over.

Round two begins. Giles with a straight left. Cummings with a low kick. Giles with a low kick of his own. Giles lands a straight right then moves away. Left hook by Giles. Cummings lands a straight left. Low kick by Cummings. Left hook lands by Cummings. Giles just misses landing flush on a brutal right hook. Low kick by Cummings. Giles returns with a low kick of his own but it goes low and the referee calls time due to a low blow. The referee warns Giles but does not take a point. Time is back in as Cummings is okay. Giles misses landing a right hook and they clinch up. Giles with a shoulder strike and then they break. Jab by Giles. Low kick by Cummings. Giles just misses landing a straight right and they clinch again. Cummings pushes Giles against the cage but can’t complete the body lock takedown and the round is over.

Cummings with a straight left. They are definitely being more busy this round. Straight left by Cummings lands. Cummings land a kick to the body on Giles and then clinches up with him. Giles stuffs the body lock takedown attempt. Giles with a straight right. Giles with a right hook. Low kick by Cummings. Jab by Giles. Cummings with a left hook and then a kick to the body but Giles returns with a straight right. Cummings with a low kick. Cummings lands a brutal overhand left that knocks Giles to the mat. Cummings follows him to the ground and locks up a guillotine choke. It's tight and Giles isn’t able to defend it and is forced to tap, handing the victory to Cummings. Wow, what a great finish by Cummings that came out of nowhere.

Patrick Cummins vs. Ed Herman

Round 1

Next up is a light heavyweight bout between Ed Herman and Patrick Cummins. The referee is Dan Miragliotta. They touch gloves and the fight is on. They exchange jabs right away. Herman with a hard jab to the chin of Cummins, and Cummins returns with one of his own. Jab to the body by Cummins. Another jab by Cummins. He lands another jab and follows it up with an overhand right. Cummins with a right hook. Cummins with another jab. Herman lands a 1-2 combination in return. Herman lands a right hook. Uppercut by Herman. He lands a right hook. Cummins lands a kick to the body but Herman catches it and returns fire with a straight right. Cummins with another jab. Low kick by Cummins and Herman returns with a right hook. Cummins shoots for a single leg takedown and completes it but Herman is able to quickly get back to his feet. Cummins with a left hook that knocks out the mouthpiece of Herman. They clinch up and Herman lands a brutal knee that rocks Cummins. He’s badly rocked and Herman follows him to the mat and lands some ground and pound before the referee rushes in and stops the fight. What a great win for Herman.

Michael Trizano vs. Grant Dawson

Round 1

It’s time for a featherweight bout between Grant Dawson and Michael Trizano. The referee is Keith Peterson. They clinch up immediately and Dawson is looking to take Trizano down against the cage. Trizano is able to break free. Dawson with a jab, then a low kick. They clinch up again. Dawson is able to get Trizano to the mat but Trizano is able to get back to the fence. Dawson jumps onto the back of Trizano but Trizano shakes him off but Dawson continues to stick to him like glue. Dawson lands a knee and continues to press Trizano against the cage. Knee to the body by Dawson and Trizano breaks free. Low kick by Dawson. He shoots for a double leg takedown but Trizano stuffs it and is now pushing Dawson against the cage. Dawson reverses position. Dawson with an elbow from the clinch. He is finally able to land a trip takedown and finds himself in side control just before the end of the round.

Round 2

Round two begins. Trizano leads with the jab right away. He lands a double jab that pushes Dawson backwards. Another jab by Trizano. He’s just lighting Dawson up with that jab right now. Dawson clinches up and is looking for a body lock takedown and completes it, winding up in full mount. Dawson is able to transition and take the back of Trizano. Dawson has Trizano flattened out on the mat and Dawson is raining down punches from back mount. Dawson is looking for the rear-naked choke now. He has it locked in tight and Trizano is forced to tap. Great win for Dawson.

Danny Roberts vs. Michel Pereira

Round 1

It’s time for a welterweight bout between Danny Roberts and Michel Pereira. The referee is Todd Anderson. They touch gloves and the fight begins. Roberts lands a low kick but Pereira lands an overhand right that pushes Roberts backwards. Pereira does a somersault kick for show that doesn’t land. Pereira with a superman punch. Pereira lands a flying knee and then a straight right that knocks Roberts out cold. Wow! What a win for Pereira in his UFC debut.

Round 1

Next up is a lightweight matchup between Desmond Green and Charles Jourdain. The referee is Dan Miragliotta. They touch gloves and the fight begins. Jourdain moves forward right away and lands a low kick. Jab by Green and then a kick to the body. Green with a straight right. Jourdain pushes forward and Green connects on a right hook. Another right hook by Green lands. Jourdain with a kick to the body. Left hook by Jourdain. Low kick by Jourdain. Green lands a right hook. They clinch and Green lands a knee to the body and they break. Green with a punch to the body. Low kick by Jourdain. Green with another knee to the body. Green lands a straight left. Green is able to clinch up and land a body lock takedown and land on top of Jourdain in top position. Green immediately begins to work his ground and pound. Jourdain is able to get back to his feet but Green clinches up with him immediately and lands some knees to the thighs. They break. Jourdain lands a low kick. Green lands a low kick of his own and then a right hook and the round is over.

Jourdain plows forward and lands a right hook to the body. Another right hook to the body and then a low kick by Jourdain. Green with a jab. He connects on a 1-2 combination yet again. Green with a jab. Green with an uppercut. Low kick by Jourdain. Green shoots for a double leg but Jourdain stuffs it. Green with another jab. Jourdain with a low kick. He lands a kick to the body and the round is over.

Round three begins and they touch gloves and give each other a quick hug. Green plows forward and lands a couple more right hooks to the body. Jourdain with a left hook. Low kick by Jourdain. He lands another one. Green with a straight left. Jourdain with a right hook. He continues to march forward. Low kick by Jourdain, and then Jourdain lands a left hook to the body. Green with a jab and he circles away. Jourdain is looking really strong now. Right hook by Jourdain. Knee to the body by Green. Another jab by Green. Uppercut by Jourdain. Straight right by Jourdain but Green changes levels and drives forward for a double leg takedown. Green completes the takedown and lands on top of Jourdain. He is able to get back to his feet but Green stays glues to him and drives Jourdain to the mat with a body lock takedown. Once again Jourdain is able to get back up but once again Green drives him back to the mat with a body lock takedown. Impressive wrestling by Green. Jourdain stands back up. The 10-second clapper rings. Jourdain tries to land a flying knee and a flying front kick but the round and fight are over. That was a solid fight.

Aspen Ladd vs. Sijara Eubanks

Round 1

It’s time for the final preliminary card bout, a women’s bantamweight rematch between Aspen Ladd and Sijara Eubanks. The referee is Keith Peterson. No touch of gloves for this one. Ladd moves forward right away but Eubanks connects on a right hook. Eubanks drives forward for a double leg takedown and is able to slam Ladd down to the mat. Eubanks moves into half guard. Eubanks lands a heavy punch to the face of Ladd. Eubanks briefly takes the back of Ladd but Ladd is able to get back to her feet. Eubanks tries to slam Ladd down to the mat but Ladd breaks free. Eubanks is looking for a single leg takedown but Ladd defends and locks up a guillotine and uses it to get Eubanks to the mat. Ladd transitions and takes the back of Eubanks. Ladd only has one hook in and Eubanks is able to get out of rear-naked choke position. Ladd continues to hold Eubanks to the mat and lands some hard punches to her head. Eubanks gets back to her feet but Ladd drags her back down to the mat with a body lock takedown. Once again Ladd takes the back of Eubanks but only has one hook in. Eubanks gets back to her feet but Ladd continues kneeing her in the thighs against the fence. They finally break. Eubanks lands a straight right and then a left hook. Ladd throws a body kick but Eubanks catches it and throws Ladd to the mat. Eubanks lands a couple punches on the ground to the face of Ladd right before the round ends. Great round.

Round 2

Round two begins. Eubanks starts to work her hands right away and lands a jab and then a straight right to the body. Ladd pushes forward and they clinch up against the fence. Eubanks reverses position. But Ladd is able to get her hands wrapped around the body of Eubanks and complete a body lock takedown. Ladd ends up on top in side control. Ladd is able to step over into full mount. She is able to transition and take the back of Eubanks. Ladd isn’t able to complete the rear-naked choke but continues to punch Eubanks in the head. Once again she has the rear-naked choke locked in but somehow Eubanks is able to fight her way out of it. But Ladd ends up on top in half guard and lands some nasty elbows to the face of Eubanks. Ladd is landing some brutal ground and pound. But there’s not enough time left in the round to finish the fight.

They exchange 1-2 combinations. Eubanks with a heavy jab. Ladd returns fire with a left hook. Kick to the body by Ladd. They clinch. Ladd lands a knee to the body and Eubanks returns with an elbow. They break from the clinch. Ladd moves forward and lands an elbow. Eubanks with a 1-2. Ladd with the jab. They are standing in the phone booth swinging for the fences. Impressive stuff by both fighters right now. Eubanks lands another hard left hook. Ladd returns with one of her own. Ladd with a kick to the body. Eubanks with a jab and then an overhand right. Left hook by Eubanks. They continue to swing and then Ladd changes levels for a double leg takedown. Eubanks stuffs it but they remain clinched along the cage. Eubanks is able to reverse position. The 10-second clapper sounds. They break and start swinging bombs at each others faces but Eubanks seems to get the better of the late exchange, and now the judges will decide who wins. It was a very close fight.

Davi Ramos vs. Austin Hubbard

Round 1

The first fight on the main card is a lightweight matchup between Davi Ramos and Austin Hubbard. The official in the cage is Keith Peterson. Ramos takes the center of the Octagon right away with Hubbard circling around him. They exchange front kicks and both men get kicked in the groin, which is rare. Both men are ok and the fight keeps going. Ramos lands a nice 1-2 combination. Hubbard with a front kick to the body. Punch to the body by Ramos. He goes upstairs with a high kick that is blocked and Hubbard returns fire with a straight right. Low kick by Ramos. Hubbard with an uppercut and then a low kick. Ramos lands an overhand right. Hubbard with a high kick that is blocked. Ramos lands a right hook. There is an eye poke and the referee calls time. The doctor enters the Octagon to look at the eye of Ramos but deems him fit to fight. Time back in. Hubbard with a left hook and Ramos counters with a right hook and left hook combo of his own. Ramos moves forward and lands a right hook. Ramos finally changes levels and completes a double leg takedown. Hubbard gets back up but Ramos pulls him back down to the mat and is working on a rear-naked choke. But there isn’t enough time left in the round to complete the submission.

Ramos continues to land ground and pound and for some reason the referee stands it up. Very weird standup by Keith Peterson. Hubbard moves forward but Ramos lands a low kick. Hubbard lands a left hook. Ramos is tired and fails on a spin kick. Hubbard connects on a counter left hook and Ramos falls to the mat. Hubbard jumps into his guard but there just isn’t enough time left to work and the fight is over.

Oliveira lands a low kick and Lentz returns fire with an uppercut. Low kick by Oliveira. Lentz throws one of his own but Oliveira catches the kick and lands a counter straight right. Kick to the body by Oliveira. Lentz with a low kick. Jab by Lentz and then he just misses landing a kick to the body. Oliveira lands a superman elbow but Lentz clinches up with him. They break. Oliveira with a kick to the body. Straight right by Oliveira. Low kick and then a body kick by Lentz. He lands a straight left. Oliveira with a leaping front kick to the face but Lentz is able to take Oliveira down with a body lock and then Oliveira sweeps him and lands on top. Oliveira is in side control and land some hard elbows to the fact of Lentz. Oliveira is now in half guard and is looking to move into full mount but Lentz is able to get back to his feet. Lentz with a right hook and straight left. Oliveira with a spinning tornado kick that just misses connecting right before the end of the round.

Round two begins. They touch gloves. Lentz lands a body kick that Oliveira catches and lands a straight right. Lentz is able to to land a double leg takedown but Oliveira has his arm wrapped around Lentz’ neck. The choke looks pretty tight. He has the guillotine locked in but Lentz is able to break free. There’s a cut on the head of Lentz that has been opened up really good. Oliveira lands an illegal upkick and the referee calls time. The referee gives Oliveira a hard warning for the illegal upkick. They restart on the ground. They get back to the feet. Lentz lands a right hook and left uppercut. Lentz lands a kick to the body but Oliveira catches it and lands a brutal straight right that drops Lentz. Oliveira lands hard hammerfists to his downed opponent and the referee steps in and stops the fight. Wow! Superb finish by Oliveira.

Vicente Luque vs. Derrick Krantz

Round 1

Up next are the welterweights as Vicente Luque takes on Derrick Krantz. The referee is Dan Miragliotta. They touch gloves and the fight begins. Krantz immediately lands a straight right and plows forward. He has Luque hurt but Luque jumps into a guillotine choke. Krantz is able to shake him off and land on top on the mat. Luque gets back up but Krantz is able to hold him against the fence and drag him back to the mat. Krantz now has the back of Luque. He is looking to put his hooks in and lock in a rear-naked choke. Krantz lets go of the rear-naked choke but is now looking for a guillotine choke of his own. Luque is able to get out of the choke and both fighters are back to their feet. Luque lands a stiff jab. He lands a low kick. Luque with a straight right and then a low kick behind it. Krantz lands a counter left hook. Luque with another low kick. Jab by Luque and then a straight right behind the ear of Krantz. He has Krantz hurt. Luque with a knee to the body and then a left hook behind the ear knocks Krantz to the mat. Luque starts to land some ground and pound to his hurt opponent and the referee is forced to step in and stop the fight. Another great finish by Luque.

Megan Anderson vs. Felicia Spencer

Round 1

It’s time for a women’s featherweight bout between Megan Anderson and Felicia Spencer. The referee is Keith Peterson. No touch of gloves for this one. Spencer throws a body kick that Anderson catches and counters with a straight right. Anderson lands another straight right and Spencer clinches her. Spencer now has Anderson pinned against the cage and she knees her in the thigh and body. Spencer pulls guard and is able to get Anderson to the mat. Anderson tries to get back to her feet but Spencer takes her back in transition. Spencer has both her hooks in and is looking for the rear-naked choke. Spencer lands some hard punches to the head of Anderson from back mount. Spencer has had back mount for two minutes now and continues to stay busy, raining down punches. She is now looking for the choke and gets the tap. What a fantastic win for Spencer in her UFC debut.

Antonio Carlos Jr. vs. Ian Heinisch

Round 1

It’s time for the middleweights as Ian Heinisch takes on Antonio Carlos Junior. The referee is Todd Anderson. No touch of gloves as both men come out swinging right away. Heinisch lands a low kick. Another low kick by Heinisch and Junior returns with one. Junior clinches up with Heinisch against the fence. He drags Heinisch to the floor with a body lock takedown and Junor is now in half guard with over four minutes to work. Junior looks for a leg lock but changes his mind and enters the guard of Heinisch. But Heinisch is able to use the fence to get back to his feet. Junior drags him back to the mat but once again Heinisch stands back up. Once again Junior drags Heinisch down to the mat, and once again Heinisch stands back up. Round 2

Round two begins. Heinisch lands a low kick. He lands an overhand right. Another low kick by Heinisch. He just misses landing a high kick. Junior returns with a low kick. Heinisch with another overhand right. There appears to be an eye poke but the referee refuses to call time. Heinisch rushes in but Junior changes levels and gets Heinisch to the mat. Now Junior is looking for the rear-naked choke once again. Heinisch gets back to his feet but Junior keeps pressing him along the fence. Another body lock takedown by Junior but Heinisch sweeps him and lands on top. Heinisch is landing some nasty ground and pound on Junior now, who appears to be absolutely exhausted. Heinisch lands some more nasty punches to an exhausted Junior before the round ends.

Round 3

Round three begins and the winner of this round will win the fight. Heinisch storms forward and appears to have the conditioning advantage at this point of the fight. Heinisch with a nice left hook. Junior clinches him and lands a knee to the groin of Heinisch and the referee calls time. The referee warns Junior for the groin strike and calls time back in. Heinisch storms forward and is able to take advantage of Junior slipping to the mat. Heinisch lands a hard knee to the face of Junior but Junior is able to grab a hold of a single leg. Heinisch is defending the single leg takedown well but Junior continues to hold Heinisch. Junior slips off of Heinisch, who lands on top of him. Heinisch is on top of Junior in half guard. Somehow an exhausted Junior is able to sweep Heinisch and land on top. Heinisch ges out of it but Junor continues to stick to Heinisch like glue. Junior slips off and Heinisch lands on top of him. Heinisch now has Junior in the corner on the mat in half guard. Junior gets back to his guard but Heinisch moves into full mount. There’s 10 seconds left in the round and Heinisch continues to land ground and pound until the final bell.

It’s now time for the main event, a five-round welterweight bout between Kevin Lee and Rafael Dos Anjos. The referee in charge of the fight is Dan Miragliotta. They don’t touch gloves. Lee with a high kick right away. He drops Dos Anjos with an overhand right. Lee follows Dos Anjos to the mat but Dos Anjos manages to get back to the fence and grab a single leg. They break. Lee lands a straight right on the break. Kick to the body by Lee. He pushes forward and is looking for a double leg takedown along the fence. Dos Anjos is doing a good job of defending it. Lee continues to push Dos Anjos against the fence. They exchange strikes in the clinch but Lee is doing a good job of job pressuring Dos Anjos. They finally break. Lee lands a body kick on the break. He clinches Dos Anjos and knees him in the fact. Dos Anjos just misses landing a high kick. Another knee from the clinch by Lee. Dos Anjos changes levels and completes a double leg takedown. Lee is able to get out of it and finishes the round pushing Dos Anjos against the cage.

Round two begins. Dos Anjos with a nasty body kick. Lee clinches Dos Anjos and pushes him against the cage. Lee is able to slam Dos Anjos to the mat but Dos Anjos uses a guillotine choke attempt to stand back up to his feet. Lee is looking for a single leg takedown. Dos Anjos defends it with a kimura attempt. Dos Anjos lands a high kick. Dos Anjos changes levels and drags Lee to the mat. Lee makes his way to the fence and they break. Lee just misses landing a high kick of his own. He has Dos Anjos backed up against the fence and is looking for a single leg takedown. Dos Anjos defends it but Lee continues to press him against the cage. Lee is now looking for a double leg takedown. He switches to a single leg. They break. But Lee slips off and Dos Anjos is now pressing Lee into the corner of the Octagon. Lee gives up his back but is able to get back to his feet. Dos Anjos completes another double leg takedown. Lee gets back to his feet and is now pushing Dos Anjos against the cage. Dos Anjos with a knee to the body. Dos Anjos is looking for a double leg takedown and completes it. Dos Anjos gets back to his feet. Lee is able to take the back of Dos Anjos in a scramble but Dos Anjos gets out of trouble. Lee ends the round pushing Dos Anjos against the fence. This is a gruelling fight.

Round 4

Round four begins. They begin to strike but Lee accidentally kicks Dos Anjos in the groin. The timeout is brief as Dos Anjos says he’s ok to fight again. Dos Anjos lands a brutal low kick that drops Lee to the ground. He quickly gets back up and is able to explode for a double leg takedown. Dos Anjos gets back up quickly. Lee is pushing Dos Anjos against the fence and is looking for his back. They break. Dos Anjos with a nasty low kick. Jab by Dos Anjos. Lee lands a vicious body kick then changes levels for another double leg takedown. Dos Anjos is able to defend the takedown. Lee lands a body kick. Dos Anjos changes levels for a double leg but Lee defends it. Lee with another kick to the body. He changes levels for a single leg takedown but Dos Anjos defends it. Lee looks exhausted and Dos Anjos takes advantage, finding his way into the full mount of Lee. He locks in the arm-triangle choke and Lee taps out, giving Dos Anjos the victory. What a fight.
