UFC Company Man Donald Cerrone Wants to Continue Fighting for ‘At Least Five More Years’

One of the Ultimate Fighting Championship’s most active fighters in Donald Cerrone has stated he would like to continue fighting for at least another five years, despite his recent struggles inside the Octagon.

“Cowboy”, who has amassed 45 mixed martial arts fights in his professional career, faced Leon Edwards at welterweight as part of UFC Singapore‘s main event. Edwards was awarded the victory after five rounds and fans were calling for “Cowboy” to retire from the sport. The defeat left Cerrone’s record reading one win from his last five fights, with two heavy stoppages coming at the hands of Jorge Masvidal and Darren Till.

Cerrone, who many call the ultimate company man for the UFC where he’ll fight anyone, anywhere, said he’s still loving the sport and the desire to compete at the highest level (via MMA Weekly):

“I have so many fights left in me. If tonight was my last fight, I’d be upset, but I’m gonna go until the UFC says, Cowboy, enough bro. I love where the sport is going. I’m gonna stay here and keep fighting until they tell me I can’t anymore. This old dog has still got a lot in me. I stood there five rounds and gave it hell, and with a smile on my face. At least five more years, literally, until the UFC says no more.”
