According to Sherdog sources, Khalil Rountree will face Modestas Bukauskas in a 205-pound showdown in an upcoming UFC Fight Night card, which will go down on Sept. 4. Sources couldn't confirm the location of the fight.

Rountree (8-5, 4-5 UFC) dropped a decision to Marcin Prachnio during their tilt on the preliminary UFC 257 preliminary card in his last action. Previously, the 31-year old fighter was stopped with elbows by Ion Cutelaba at UFC Fight Night 160. The latest victory of “The War Horse” dates back to April 2019, when he upended Eryk Anders via unanimous decision at UFC 236.

After scoring an impressive first-round TKO victory against Andreas Michailidis in his promotional debut at UFC on ESPN 13, Bukauskas (11-4, 1-2 UFC) suffered a couple of defeats. Jimmy Crute put “The Baltic Gladiator” away with punches at UFC Fight Night 180 before Michal Oleksiejczuk edged the 27-year old fighter thanks to a narrow split decision at UFC 260.

The Nevada-based promotion hasn’t officially announced the Fight Night card at the moment of writing. Several reports indicated that the UFC is aiming at London. The card should be headlined by a middleweight showdown between Darren Till and Derek Brunson. If confirmed, it will be the promotion’s European return following the COVID-19 outbreak in March 2020, when they had to cancel a UFC Fight Night London event hours before it was supposed to go down.

The UFC is currently reshaping its fall schedule. Sept. 4 was indicated as the date for the UFC 266 card before the event was moved to Sept. 25. Advertisement
