Roosevelt Roberts vs. Matt Frevola Slated for UFC Event on Sept. 12

Roosevelt Roberts will lock horns with Matt Frevola at an Ultimate Fighting Championship event on Sept. 12.

Multiple outlets confirmed the lightweight bout after Frevola announced it on his Instagram page. The UFC card is expected to take place at the UFC Apex in Las Vegas and is headlined by a light heavyweight clash pitting Thiago Santos against Glover Teixeira.

Roberts had a two-fight winning streak snapped at UFC on ESPN 11, where he fell victim to a Jim Miller armbar in the opening stanza on June 20. Prior to that, the Dana White’s Contender Series alum had been victorious in four of his first five promotional appearances.

Also a former Contender Series competitor, Frevola will fight for the first time this year after a 2020 campaign saw him earn a unanimous verdict over Jalin Turner and a split decision against Luis Pena.
