Red Devils Return for Retribution At MFC 4 USA vs. Russia
Press Release Mar 22, 2005
With revenge in their sights, Russia’s elite Red Devil Sports Club
fight team returns to Atlantic City, New Jersey for Mixed Fighting
Championship 4: “USA vs. Russia” on Saturday, May 14th live from
the Trump Taj Mahal. Falling short to a stacked team of American
adversaries at MFC’s inaugural event, the Red Devils have had a
year to hone their skills and are hungry for vengeance. Country
will clash with country once again to prove the best and brightest
in the sport today with eight action-packed fights to be
announced.
In the main event, Miletich Martial Arts’ next great heavyweight Ben Rothwell steps back into the MFC ring to face Red Devil Sports Club’s Ibagrim Magomedov in a heated rematch. Rothwell took a loss to the brawler back at November 2002’s M-1: Russia vs. the World 4, but now Magomedov will be on the American’s home turf. Rothwell will be ready and waiting, having made his mark in the MFC’s last two events with his prominent striking prowess and a “never back down” attitude.
Battling through three fights in one night to become 2Hot2Handle’s Heavyweight Champion in February 2004, Magomedov managed to top this impressive feat by barreling through yet another three-fight tournament on route to becoming the M-1 Heavyweight Grand Prix Champion last December. Backing up teammate Magomedov will be a slew of returning Red Devil standouts, including submission strongman Arman Gambaryan and striker Alexei “the Destroyer” Veselovzorov among others.
Also on the card, rising star Eddie Alvarez returns following his definitive decimation of Japanese daredevil Seichi Ikemoto at MFC’s last event. This explosive Fight Factory rep and 2-Time All American capped off his wrestling career with 120 wins, but it was Alvarez’s fast and accurate fists that proved too much for his foreign foe back in February. Will his next adversary have any better luck?
Will the American posse run through their Russian counterparts again? Or will the visitors be ready this time to even the score? May 14th will have the answers. Tickets are available now and can be purchased directly through the Taj Mahal Box Office (609-449-5150) and through all Ticketmaster locations (1-800-736-1420 or www.ticketmaster.com).
