Randa Markos vs. Cortney Casey Added to UFC 202

The Ultimate Fighting Championship announced early Wednesday afternoon that strawweights Cortney Casey and Randa Markos will lock horns at UFC 202, giving the massive event a total of 13 bouts.

A tough Iraqi who calls Canada home, Markos is coming off an impressive win over Jocelyn Jones-Lybarger at UFC Fight Night 89 in June. “Quiet Storm” edged the Phoenix-based fighter via unanimous decision, this after dropping a decision to Karolina Kowalkiewicz.

After losing her first two bouts inside the Octagon, MMA Lab’s Casey got into the win column with a destructive knockout of Cristina Stanciu. “Cast Iron” took her out in the first courtesy of a volley of elbows and punches and is looking to carry the momentum into UFC 202.

The mega event goes down Aug. 20 in Las Vegas in the new T-Mobile Arena, the site of the blockbuster UFC 200 card. The grudge rematch between reigning featherweight champion Conor McGregor and Nate Diaz will anchor the festivities, though they will meet in a non-title bout at welterweight.

Fan favorite Donald Cerrone will lock horns with Rick Story and Anthony “Rumble” Johnson will oppose Glover Teixeira in a pivotal light heavyweight affair. Cody Garbrandt will take on Japanese star Takeya Mizugaki as well.

UFC 202 will be brought to fight fans live on UFC Fight Pass, Fox Sports 1 and pay-per-view.
