NAC Suspends Michal Oleksiejczuk 1 Year, Overturns UFC 219 Victory to No Contest

Michal Oleksiejczuk has been suspended one year by the Nevada Athletic Commission after testing positive for clomiphene in a drug test at UFC 219.

Additionally, Oleksiejczuk’s decision victory over Khalil Rountree has been overturned to a no contest and the middleweight fighter was fined 30 percent of his $12,000 purse, which amounts to $3,600. The NAC made the decision during a meeting on Tuesday.

Oleksiejczuk’s suspension is retroactive to Dec. 30, so he will be eligible to return in December of this year. The 23-year-old Pole still faces separate sanctions from USADA, which has yet to announce a ruling in his anti-doping case.

Oleksiejczuk stepped in on short notice to replace kickboxing standout Gokhan Saki at UFC 219. Prior to facing Rountree, he had won nine consecutive fights. Clomiphene is an estrogen blocker which is known to be used in conjunction with various other performance enhancing drugs.
