After dropping a narrow split decision to Lorenz Larkin at Bellator 229, Koreshkov (23-4, 13-4 Bellator) was forced to stay away from competition for a while due to the COVID-19 pandemic. Like some other fighters, “Spartan” reached a deal with Bellator for a one-off to stay active. Most recently, he submitted Adriano Rodrigues de Oliveira thanks to a first-round armbar that stopped the contest at the 4:38 mark in Round 1 at AMC - Fight Nights: Sochi.
Homasi (15-9, 4-3 Bellator) lost to Paul Daley, who snapped the three-bout winning streak of “The Sleek Sheik” with punches 1:44 into Round 2 at Bellator 257.
The Bellator 264 card will also feature a tilt in the women’s featherweight division (via MMA Fighting) as former Invicta FC champion Pam Sorenson (8-3, 0-0 Bellator) will take on Roberta Samad (5-1, 0-1 Bellator). Sorenson is making her promotional debut after outpointing Kaitlin Young and capturing the Invicta 145-pound title at Invicta FC 36. Professional Fighters League vet Samad is returning to Bellator nearly six years since her latest fight under the promotional banner. Most recently, “Crush” upended Moriel Charneski at PFL 1: 2019 Regular Season.
Bellator 264 will go down at the Mohegan Sun Arena in Uncasville, Connecticut. The card is headlined by the middleweight championship clash between defending champion Gegard Mousasi (47-7-2) and John Salter (18-4). In the same night, Justin Montalvo (2-0) will face Kendly St. Louis (3-4) at lightweight and Davion Franklin (3-0) will lock horns with Everett Cummings (15-0, 1 NC) in a heavyweight clash.
