Invicta Phoenix Series Bantamweight Tournament Gets Two New Participants

Invicta FC’s upcoming bantamweight tournament has undergone a couple changes.

The all-female promotion announced Tuesday that Phoenix Series 3 athletes Auttumn Norton and Erin Harpe have been forced to withdraw from the card due for undisclosed reasons. As a result, Julia Ottolino and Gillian Noll will take their place in the 135-pound bracket.

The eight quarterfinalists will be matched during a random draw prior to the event. Quarterfinal and semifinal bouts will be contested over a single five-minute round, while the finals will be three five-minute frames.

Ottolino was originally slated to face Serena DeJesus in a bantamweight tournament reserve bout. Florina Moeller will take Ottolino’s place in that contest.

Invicta Phoenix Series 3 takes place at Memorial Hall in Kansas City, Kan., on March 6 and streams on UFC Fight Pass at 8 p.m. ET/5 p.m. PT. In addition to the tournament, the card features a clash between Lisa Verzosa and Julija Stoliarenko for the vacant bantamweight crown. All fights for the event will utilize open scoring.
