Invicta 17 Weigh-in Results: Champions Tonya Evinger, Livia Renata Souza Hit Marks
Tonya Evinger from all indications enjoys having the bull’s eye on her back.
Evinger tipped the scales at 134.7 pounds, as she prepares to defend her bantamweight title against Colleen Schneider (134.4) in the Invicta Fighting Championships 17 main event on Saturday at The Hangar at OC Fair in Costa Mesa, California. Strawweight champion Livia Renata Souza (114.1) and challenger Angela Hill (114.1) also met the mandated weight requirements for their co-main event at Friday’s official weigh-in.
On a career-best eight-fight winning streak, Evinger has emerged as one of the sport’s top bantamweights. The 34-year-old EliteXC veteran last appeared at Invicta 14 on Sept. 12, when she stopped Pannie Kianzad with second-round punches. Schneider, meanwhile, has won her last four fights, including a split decision over Raquel Pa’aluhi at Invicta 15 in January.
Invicta 17 will stream to UFC Fight Pass in its entirety at 9 p.m. ET/6 p.m. PT.
