Grove-Jensen Heavyweight Scrap Added to Bellator 47 Draw

A heavyweight confrontation between UFC veteran Neil Grove (pictured) and Bellator debutant Zak Jensen is slated to go down at Bellator 47.

Sherdog.com confirmed the bout with a source close to the contest following an initial report from TopMMANews.com. Going down July 23 and featuring Bellator's Summer Series featherweight tournament semifinals, the event marks the promotion's first event held on Canadian soil. Emanating from Casino Rama in Rama, Ontario, the show's main draw will air live on MTV2.

Grove made his Bellator debut last August, fighting his way to the finals of the promotion's third-season heavyweight tournament. Grove blasted Eddie Sanchez in the quarterfinals in just 92 seconds and finished fellow semifinalist Alexey Oleinik even quicker, knocking out the Ukrainian in just 45 seconds to earn a spot in the tournament finals. However, the South African was dominated in the championship round by reigning titleholder Cole Konrad, as the wrestler finished Grove with a first-round keylock at Bellator 32 in October.

A three-year pro, Jensen most recently snapped a three-fight skid by earning a 16-second knockout over Jason Ackerman in November. The Gorilla Combat representative fought six times in 2010, most notably falling to UFC vet Tim Hague in July.

Jensen has also tangled with the likes of Brad Imes and Mike Whitehead, submitting to both men in 2007 and 2008, respectively. All 10 of Jensen's career victories have come by stoppage, and the heavyweight has only seen the second round once as a professional.
