Derrick Lewis Latest Fighter to Blast Colby Covington

Derrick Lewis has joined a long list of fighters that have spoken out against welterweight Colby Covington.

Lewis appeared on “The MMA Hour” recently and launched an attack on Covington for allegedly speaking ill of the heavyweight. This is what the big man had to say, courtesy of MMA Mania):

“While we’re on the mic, f--k Colby, whatever his name is. F--k you, motherfu--er. Just so you hear that. Go ahead and put that out. I heard he was talking s--t. He’s one of those boys that wears Polo shirts and as soon as you touch him, he’s going to call the cops on you. One of them preppy motherfu--ers. I don’t know where it was on, I just heard he was talking s--t.”

The comments seem to have come out of nowhere and caught Ariel Helwani off guard.

Covington has a knack of getting under the skin of heavyweight fighters. In November, he famously clashed with Fabricio Werdum while touring in Sydney, Australia, for UFC Fight Night 121. The pair had several run-ins during the tour, with Covington accusing Werdum of punching him in the face outside their hotel room.
