Dana White Discusses Importance of UFC Establishing Foothold in Mexico
Ultimate Fighting Championship CEO Dana White was a special guest at a recent luncheon hosted by the Latin Chamber of Commerce.
During the session held at the Durango Casino & Resort, White discussed a number of topics with Las Vegas entrepreneurs, including the growth of the promotion and the upcoming UFC 306 event at The Sphere, which is also a tribute to Mexican Independence Day. White also announced a donation to the Latin Chamber of Commerce.

White also shared why it was so significant for the UFC to break ground in Mexico and other Latin American markets.
“I always wanted to hopefully have some fighters that would connect with the rest of the world like Julio Cesar Chavez did for me,” White said. “And it’s always been an important market for me. There’s so many things that I love about Mexican people, I say it all the time, some of the baddest humans to ever walk the face of the earth have been Mexican.”
With UFC 306 on the horizon, it was an ideal time for White to offer his appreciation for Mexican culture.
“This event at the Sphere is on Mexican Independence Day and this thing is what I call my love letter to Mexico,” White said. “There’s so many things that I love about Mexican people. They’re hardworking, they’re all about their family, they’re so proud of who they are and where they come from.”
