Deontay Wilder vs. Tyson Fury

Round 1

R1: Kenny Bayless is the referee for this heavyweight world title affair. The MGM is loaded to its gills, mostly a pro-Fury crowd. The bell rings and here we go. Wilder with jabs to the head and body right away. Fury is coming forward, blocking and parrying the jabs. Fury misses a right hook to the head and the crowd explodes. Wilder with jabs to the body and then an overhand right to the head that lands partially. Fury cracks Wilder with a short right cross on the inside, the best punch landed so far. A stiff jab from the Brit and Wilder backs away. Fury lands a glancing left hook to the face and then throws a combo. Wilder eats a jab late and then a left-right. It’s a great round for Fury, who takes it 10-9.

Round 2

R2: Wilder is moving backward behind a soft jab. Wilder swallows a left hook but then comes right back with a straight right to the face; Fury takes it well. A left-right upstairs from the American and Fury ties him up. Wilder comes right back with another lead right but Fury rolls with it nicely. They trade jabs twice before clinching. Wilder launches an overhand right but it’s too sloppy to land cleanly. Fury goes back to his jab and follows Wilder to the ropes. “The Bronze Bomber” takes another stiff jab and then a clean right to the face. He takes it well, but Fury is in control here in the early goings. Fury lands a combo of punches to the head at the bell and they fight for a few seconds after the bell. 10-9 Fury.

Round 3

R3: They trade jabs early and often until a right cross wobbles Wilder. They clinch and trade punches on the inside before Bayless splits them up. A hard left-right to the dome for Fury again; Wilder is keeping his hands too low too often and he’s paying the price. Fury is backing the American up with jabs and Wilder looks very flustered. Another right to the head for try and when they clinch, “The Gypsy King” unloads several punches to the ribs. When they split, a huge right to the head drops Wilder. He is up and complaining about something. Fury comes right at him and drops him with a barrage of punches, but it's deemed a slip. Wilder is back up and extremely wobbly. He is saved by the bell. It’s a huge round for Fury. 10-8 Fury.

Round 4

R4: Fury comes right at Wilder to start the fourth. They clinch and Fury tags him with uppercuts. They are back at it and Wilder misses a huge left hook and falls into the corner off-balance. Wilder still looks wobbled from the previous round and Fury is coming right at him. The fight is getting very rough and dirty on the inside and Wilder is breathing heavily. Wilder is uncomfortable as he is forced into a corner. They clinch and trade rabbit punches for a few seconds before Bayless splits them up. They clinch again and again; Wilder is shaky and frustrated while Fury is in total control. 10-9 Fury.

Round 5

R5: Fury comes right at Wilder and blasts him with a right. They go toe-to-toe briefly before tying up. They clinch and Fury rocks him with an uppercut on the inside. Wilder is very untidy and looks exhausted and we’re only in the fifth. Fury batters him with punches to the head and drops him with a left to the chest. This is getting ugly and out of hand. Wilder whiffs on a huge right hook and stumbles across the ring into the ropes. Fury chases him down and lands a few more punches before getting tied up. Wilder is staying on the ropes, too exhausted to move. Fury has him dead to rights. Bayless intervenes and takes a point away from Fury for repeatedly hitting on the back of the head. Either way, Fury still wins the round. 9-8 Fury.

Round 6

R6: Fury comes right at Wilder and forces him into a corner with a barrage of punches. Wilder misses a right hook and is tied up again. Tyson lands three rights to the head as Wilder is pinned against the ropes. This fight is ready to be ended any moment now as Wilder is getting beaten badly. They stay in the clinch and trade punches. Wilder just can’t land anything clean and he stays on the ropes near a neutral corner. Wilder walks across the ring, gassed out, and is rocked by a left hook to the head. Wilder is bleeding from his left ear. Wilder’s corner has a big decision to make here because he is getting his ass kicked. 10-9 Fury.

Round 7

R7: Fury begins the frame with a sweeping left hook that backs Wilder up. Wilder is looking to land just that right hand; he’s not setting it up behind anything. Fury is jabbing away, in complete control. Wilder misses a left hook and then is backed into a corner behind another volley of punches. Before it gets even more out of hand, Wilder’s corner throws in the towel, finally ending this massacre.
