Round 1

(+ Enlarge) | Photo: Dave Mandel/Sherdog.com

Kotau styled on Sergiacomi quickly.
Sergiacomi tries to step into the pocket and gets backed out by left hooks and push kicks from the taller man. Kotau grabs a kick from Sergiacomi and tries to work some clinch strikes, but Sergiacomi threatens with a trip and the Belarus native releases. A left hook sends Sergiacomi to the ground, where Kotau tries to pound him out while referee Dan Miragliotta tells Sergiacomi to protect himself. Kotau can’t get the stoppage with ground-and-pound, so he jumps on Sergiacomi’s back, cinches up a rear-naked choke and forces a quick tap.

The Official Result

Ilya Kotau def. Nicholas Sergiacomi via Submission (Rear-Naked Choke) R1 2:17

Parker Porter vs. Eric Bedard

Round 1

Bedard comes out swinging leather and catches Porter with a pair of right hands, but Porter swings right back and tags “Lucky Strikes” with an overhand right. Porter adds a leg kick and continues to find Bedard’s face with his right hand. Bedard is on his back foot now but still connecting with the left, bloodying Porter’s nose midway through the round. With two minutes left, Bedard connects with a hard four- or five-piece combination of punches and elbows. Bedard eats them and steps into the pocket to lay a few heavy punches on Porter, who is breathing heavily late in the frame with blood coating his nose and mouth. Bedard begins mixing in a few leg kicks with his punches in the closing minute, making it a closer round by the time the bell rings.

Sherdog Scores

Jordan Breen scores the round 10-9 Bedard
Tristen Critchfield scores the round 10-9 Bedard
Chris Nelson scores the round 10-9 Bedard

Round 2

Porter prevailed with a keylock on top.
Porter gets active with his kicks at the start of round two of this heavyweight bout, mixing them up to the legs and body of Bedard, who is still launching overhand rights in retaliation. Ninety seconds into the round, Porter clinches up and trips Bedard to the canvas, landing in half guard on Bedard’s right side. Porter gets busy with ground-and-pound on top, landing punches, then a series of elbows. Porter tries to get a stoppage with elbows but can’t. Instead, Porter leans across to frame up a keylock on Bedard’s left arm. He is stuck in half guard still, but it doesn't matter, as Porter cranks the arm and gets a tap in short order.

The Official Result

Parker Porter def. Eric Bedard via Submission (Keylock) R2 2:51

Kin Moy vs. Blair Tugman

Round 1

Tugman pressures Moy toward the fence, gets backed away by a leg kick but comes back to shoot for a double-leg takedown. He lifts and slams Moy to the canvas at the base of the fence, then wraps himself around “Kin Kong” and drags him back to the ground when Moy tries to stand. Moy takes a knee, and Tugman tries to turn the corner to take his back but is blocked by the cage. Tugman peels Moy away from the fence and works to pass to full mount, but Moy posts and scoots back toward the cage, never staying flat on the ground. Moy finally gets up with 90 seconds left in the round, but he’s back on the mat 20 seconds later courtesy of Tugman slam. Tugman is mounting virtually no offense but continues to control position. When he tries for a rear-naked choke, Moy slips out and bursts back to his feet, but Tugman catches up with him in the final 15 seconds and drags him back to the mat.

Sherdog Scores

Jordan Breen scores the round 10-9 Tugman
Tristen Critchfield scores the round 10-9 Tugman
Chris Nelson scores the round 10-9 Tugman

Round 2

Tugman goes straight back to the clinch, pinning Moy against the fence with double underhooks and then dropping to try a takedown. Moy hits Tugman with a few punches as he’s pushed on the cage, but it’s Tugman coming over the top with a big elbow that slices Moy’s forehead. Tugman keeps pressing for the takedown and finally brings down Moy, who’s now dripping blood all over the canvas but appears no worse for wear as he throws elbows at Tugman’s face from guard. Tugman goes back to maintaining positional control midway through the round, then Moy scoots backward to the fence and manages to scramble up. Once there, referee John McCarthy calls for the doctor to check on Moy’s cut, which is a huge gash right on his hairline. Moy is cleared to continue, but he’s taken down again as soon as the fight resumes. Moy hits Tugman with a few good elbows from his back and works up to his feet in the last 20 seconds, but Tugman once again controls the action.

Sherdog Scores

Jordan Breen scores the round 10-9 Tugman
Tristen Critchfield scores the round 10-9 Tugman
Chris Nelson scores the round 10-9 Tugman

Round 3

Tugman clinches but can’t contain Moy this time, and now it’s Moy’s turn to press forward on the “Bull Shark.” Before Moy can execute much, Tugman catches a kick and trips him to the ground in the center of the cage. Moy throws up his legs, fishing for a submission, but he’s blocked by Tugman.

(+ Enlarge) | Photo: D. Mandel/Sherdog.com

Moy authored his own Silva-Sonnen 1.
They move toward the fence, where Moy stands up and his held on the cage until Tugman can take him back to the ground. The bantamweights stand with three minutes remaining, and now Moy is able to keep Tugman off his legs by threatening with a knee. Tugman backs away but comes straight back at Moy, pushing him to the fence and then scoring another takedown. Moy throws up a triangle as soon as they hit the ground, trapping Tugman’s head and left arm. Tugman goes flat on his belly and tries to escape, but the choke is tight and Tugman soon taps out, giving Kin Moy the improbable come-from-behind win.

The Official Result

Kin Moy def. Blair Tugman via Submission (Triangle Choke) R3 3:01

Billy Giovanella vs. Remo Cardarelli

Round 1

The flyweights spend the opening half of the round circling and throwing mostly single shots, occasionally clinching and working off the fence with Giovanella on the outside. Finally, midway through the frame, Cardarelli shoots in the center of the cage and pushes Giovanella to the outside. Giovanella tries to jump guard with a guillotine, but Cardarelli slips his head free and winds up standing over his prone opponent. After dodging a few upkicks from the taller man, Cardarelli opts to come down into Giovanella’s open guard with just over one minute remaining. Giovanella throws up his legs, hunting for a submission, so Cardarelli shucks the limbs, rolling Giovanella to his knees and jumping on his back. Cardarelli works for the rear-naked choke with 30 seconds remaining, peppering Giovanella with punches, but he can’t find the opening before the bell.

Sherdog Scores

Jordan Breen scores the round 10-9 Cardarelli
Tristen Critchfield scores the round 10-9 Cardarelli
Chris Nelson scores the round 10-9 Cardarelli

Round 2

Giovanella shoots for a takedown but is easily stuffed down to the ground by Cardarelli, who pops Giovanella with a right hand as he stands back up. Another attempt at a clinch from Giovanella is broken by Cardarelli, and the flyweights move back to the center of the cage. Giovanella comes over the top with a right cross, gets backed up to the fence but is allowed to walk forward by Cardarelli. With two minutes left in the round, Cardarelli pushes Giovanella to the fence and tries to work in the clinch, but there’s not much happening. Cardarelli backs away, then shoots for Giovanella’s legs and this time brings him to the ground, though Giovanella threatens with a guillotine this time. Giovanella stands up and gets Cardarelli in a bulldog choke to drag him to the ground, but Cardarelli slips free and nearly takes Giovanella’s back.

Sherdog Scores

Jordan Breen scores the round 10-9 Giovanella
Tristen Critchfield scores the round 10-9 Giovanella
Chris Nelson scores the round 10-9 Giovanella

Round 3

Giovanella takes the center of the cage and swings long punches at the shorter man, keeping Cardarelli out of the middle and circling the outside. After two minutes of ineffective striking, Cardarelli finds his mark with an overhand right and follow-up leg kick.

(+ Enlarge) | Photo: Dave Mandel/Sherdog.com

Cardarelli outworked Giovanelli for the W.
He then circles around Giovanella and hits him with another grazing right hand. The next pair of punches puts Giovanella on rubbery legs, and Cardarelli chases him to the fence, where Giovanella pulls guard. Giovanella sits up to try a guillotine and uses it to sweep to top position with two minutes remaining. He flattens out Cardarelli and swings tired punches through his guard, fending off a triangle attempt in the final minute. Cardarelli rolls to his knees and takes some perfunctory right hands from Giovanella as time expires.

Sherdog Scores

Jordan Breen scores the round 10-9 Giovanella (29-28 Giovanella)

Waylon Lowe vs. Ryan Quinn

Round 1

Both men connect with glancing blows in the opening minute, and the southpaw Lowe keeps Quinn at bay when the Connecticut local tries to get inside for a shot. Lowe follows up with a body kick, then slugs Quinn with a powerful left. Quinn slips to the ground throwing a kick and is allowed to stand by Lowe, who’s staying on the outside, trying to draw Quinn forward. Quinn slips throwing a punch this time, scrambles back up and continues walking after the UFC veteran with little success. Quinn is stepping into range with big overhand rights and keeps getting countered by Lowe’s quick hooks. With one minute left in the round, Lowe shoots for and hits an easy takedown, but Quinn uses his feet to push the wrestler out of his guard. The fighters scramble up and get into a striking exchange, followed by a warning from referee John McCarthy for a clash of heads.

Quinn rushes into the pocket and gets caught in a front headlock, then busted down to his knees. He stands up and pushes Lowe against the cage, but Lowe quickly reverses and exits the clinch with an uppercut. Now it’s Lowe’s turn to try a takedown on the cage, pinning Quinn to the fence with an underhook. Again, Lowe breaks off the clinch with a clubbing left hand. Quinn keeps pressing forward but gets shoved against the cage once more. Lowe drops levels to try a double-leg, and Quinn pulls guard with a tight, arm-in guillotine. Seconds after completing the takedown, Lowe realizes he’s caught and taps out.

The Official Result

Ryan Quinn def. Waylon Lowe via Submission (Guillotine Choke) R2 2:47

Kaline Medeiros vs. Sarah Payant

Round 1

Payant tags Medeiros with a whipping right hand in the opening seconds, but the Brazilian changes levels and scores a quick takedown near the fence. Medeiros lands in side control, socks Payant with a couple right hands. Payant spins to put Medeiros in her guard, then Medeiros passes to half guard on Payant’s left side. Now it’s side control for Medeiros on the left side of Payant, working for a crucifix but unable to trap the arm.

(+ Enlarge) | Photo: Dave Mandel/Sherdog.com

Medeiros trapped and tapped Payant.

Payant rolls to her knees, gets caught in a headlock and drills the north-south Medeiros with a backward elbow. Payant rolls for a kneebar and gets pushed over, then attacked by Medeiros with elbows and punches to the body. Rolling to her back, Payant tries a guillotine, but Medeiros is already in her half guard and escapes easily. Medeiros passes to the side and leans across to wrench a kimura on Payant’s left arm. Once Medeiros traps Payant’s head between her legs and cranks the arm, Payant taps out.

The Official Result

Kaline Medeiros def. Sarah Payant via Submission (Kimura) R1 3:24

Dean Hancock vs. Alex Dunworth

Round 1

Hancock slips early but bounces back up and tags Dunworth with a right hand from his back foot. Dunworth fires back with a nice left hook which gives Hancock an early cut on the right eyebrow. Dunworth pushes his man to the fence, works for a single-leg takedown but can’t get Hancock on the canvas. Hancock threatens with a guillotine, forcing Dunworth to release and back away, and now it’s Hancock’s turn to do some work with range strikes. A hard leg kick gets Dunworth turned around, and Hancock follows with a straight punch that backs him up to the fence. Hancock drops low and gets a takedown, then stands as Dunworth drives forward on his legs. More leg kicks and punches connect for Hancock, bloodying the nose of Dunworth. Another takedown goes for Hancock, and he turns to take Dunworth’s back for a rear-naked choke attempt in the last 90 seconds of the round. Dunworth twists around and escapes the choke, then stands to pressure Hancock on the fence. Hancock finds the space to land a nice knee to the gut of Dunworth as the final seconds tick down.

a second-round corner stoppage.
Hancock opens with a leg kick and a right hand, then puts a spinning back kick on the ribs of Dunworth. The lightweights trade jabs in the center of the cage, with Hancock landing the better shots and even knocking out Dunworth’s mouthguard. After a break from referee Todd Anderson to replace the mouthpiece, Dunworth gets dropped with a heavy hook. Hancock chases him against the fence, where Dunworth tries for a desperate takedown and is stuffed. Hancock stands him up and continues to whip Dunworth with punches, using both hands to tag him with hooks and uppercuts.

The mouthguard of Dunworth goes flying again, and when the ref pauses the action to replace it, Dunworth’s corner throws in the towel.

A straight right hand from Page sends Bears to the canvas, but he bounces right back up and clinches with “MVP” for a takedown. Page rolls through and winds up on top, punching Bears and getting a verbal warning from referee Todd Anderson to watch the back of the head. Page stands and resumes his stalking of Bears, dancing and jiving in his opponent's face while winding up his right hand as he creeps into the pocket, then drilling Bears with a pinpoint straight right on the jaw. Bears collapses in a heap; this one is over, and Page knows it. Referee Anderson steps in to call the bout as Page coolly strolls off.

The Official Result

Michael Page def. Rudy Bears via KO (Punch) R1 1:05

Chris Honeycutt vs. Paul Bradley

Round 1

Bradley takes the center of the cage and backs up as Honeycutt swings a murderous right hand. Honeycutt lands a leg kick and shoots in to attempt a takedown against the fence. After switching from a double to a single leg, Honeycutt gives up on the shot and Bradley breaks out of the clinch. Honeycutt lands a body kick, misses with another wide right hand and sticks a jab before shoving Bradley against the fence again. This time, it doesn’t last long, and Bradley escapes to continue circling. Bradley touches the chin of Honeycutt with an uppercut, then backs up to counter “The Cut” with a clean left hook. Honeycutt shoots again with just over two minutes remaining in the round, and the welterweights wind up back on the fence. Bradley tosses him away, steps back to the center and misses with a big overhand right of his own. A jab from Honeycutt touches the bloodied right eye of Bradley, then Honeycutt initiates another clinch on the cage. After taking a few foot stomps, Bradley pushes Honeycutt away, and they’re back to circling in the middle. A jab from Honeycutt snaps back Bradley’s head, then another. Honeycutt rushes in to clinch and catches Bradley with a left hook on the way.

Sherdog Scores

Tristen Critchfield scores the round 10-9 Honeycutt
Chris Nelson scores the round 10-9 Honeycutt

Round 2

Honeycutt tries to jab his way inside but gets clipped by a Bradley right hook and winds up shooting again. It’s a double-leg attempt from Honeycutt, who finally manages to lift and slam Bradley but can’t hold “The Gentleman” on the ground. Bradley escapes to his feet, then shoots and hits a single-leg takedown. Honeycutt bounces back up with Bradley wrapped around his waist, and the 170-pounders clinch on the fence again. They separate and Bradley slides backward with his hand outstretched; a finger catches Honeycutt in the eye, and Bradley gets a warning from referee John McCarthy.

(+ Enlarge) | Photo: D. Mandel/Sherdog.com

Honeycutt-Bradley ended unceremoniously.
When action resumes after 20 seconds, Bradley tags Honeycutt with a counter right hook and then denies another takedown. A pair of jabs from Honeycutt bloodies the nose of Bradley, then the fighters clash heads in an exchange. Bradley comes away from it with a gash on his forehead, but Honeycutt looks to be fine. It’s the second clash, and referee McCarthy admonishes both fighters. The cageside doctor examines Bradley and advises McCarthy that the cut is a deep one, and the fight is called. This one will go down as a no-contest due to an accidental clash of heads.

The Official Result

Chris Honeycutt vs. Paul Bradley is declared No Contest (Accidental Clash of Heads) R2 2:47

Brennan Ward vs. Roger Carroll

Round 1

A left hook and an uppercut follow after Carroll gets back to his feet, then Ward sprawls on a takedown and allows “The Leprechaun” to get up again. Ward dumps Carroll to the ground with a single leg, backs up to let him stand. Carroll throws a leg kick, caught by Ward and countered with a straight right. Carroll falls backward to the ground and once again is allowed to stand.

(+ Enlarge) | Photo: Dave Mandel/Sherdog.com

Ward's right knocked Carroll stiff.
Ward throws a punch over the top and gets caught with an accidental kick to the cup, but he doesn’t need long to recover. Carroll has no answers here, can’t find a way inside, and he’s getting tagged by punches and knees from Ward every time he steps into range. Ward counters a lazy low kick with a straight right hand that lands on the jaw, rattles Carroll’s brain and sends him crashing to the ground. Ward stands over his unconscious oppoent and tries to tack on a few more punches, but thankfully referee John McCarthy dives in for the save.

The Official Result

Paul Daley vs. Dennis Olson

Round 1

Daley lines up orthodox and knocks Olson to the ground with his first jab of the fight. Olson jumps right back to his feet and rushes at Daley to hit a takedown near the fence. After 20 seconds on his back, Daley rolls to his knees and then stands, but he’s trapped in the clinch by Olson. A knee to the body lands for Olson before he’s tripped to the ground, with Daley coming down in the American’s half guard. Daley stands when Olson threatens with a triangle, then comes back to the mat with a heavy left hand. More hard lefts connect for Daley, who stands up and dives into Olson’s guard with a right hand which just misses. Olson closes up his guard and tries to control Daley’s arms, so “Semtex” opts to get up and allow Olson to stand midway through the round. Olson eats an uppercut to try another takedown, but he’s forced to bail on the attempt when Daley cracks him with a knee and an uppercut. Olson slides backward as Daley wings overhand punches, reverses his momentum and floors Daley with another double-leg. From half guard on Daley’s right, Olson hunts for a brabo choke; Daley blocks it and wraps his arms around Olson to negate the distance. Olson tries to pull guard with a guillotine, but Daley slips right out. The Englishman stands and comes crashing back to the mat with a heavy right hand. Olson rolls to his knees, where he’s caught with more punches and elbows as he tries to contain Daley in guard. Olson catches Daley in an armbar just before time runs out.

Daley catches a kick and knocks Olson to the ground at the base of the fence, then catches “The Menace” with a right straight on the temple as he tries to stand. Daley assaults Olson with ground-and-pound, pauses to hold him down on the mat and then adds more heavy leather to the left eye of Olson which is now cut open. Olson nearly gets back to his feet, but a vicious left-handed uppercut from Daley puts him on his seat. Referee Dan Miragliotta has seen enough and steps in to give Paul Daley the technical knockout victory.

Bellator Welterweight Title Fight:
Douglas Lima vs. Andrey Koreshkov

Round 1

Massachusetts referee Kevin MacDonald gets the assignment for tonight’s 170-pound title fight. Koreshkov opens the fight with an inside leg kick, misses with a spinning follow-up aimed at the midsection of the champion. The Russian shoots a high double-leg on the fence, lifts Lima into the air and slams him to the ground, where Lima tries sweep. Koreshkov keeps him on the bottom, but Lima is able to scoot backward to the fence and stand up against a post. Releasing the clinch, Koreshkov slams Lima with a standing elbow strike, then drops levels to complete another double. Halfway through round one, it’s been all Koreshkov so far, though the Russian isn’t doing much once he gets Lima to the ground. Lima posts and stands, then backs up as Koreshkov snipes down the center with a right hand. Lima is swinging and missing with big hooks, but a leg kick from the champ knocks Koreshkov to his knees momentarily. Lima catches Koreshkov charging inside and clips him with a hooking counter. The leg kick scores again for Lima before he bends backward against the fence to avoid a spinning kick. Koreshkov completes a single-leg takedown with 30 seconds remaining and hugs Lima against the cage until the bell sounds.

Koreshkov is creeping on Lima, inching him toward the fence with right hand cocked, but a threatening bunch of punches from Lima gets the Russian to back up. Koreshkov tries to lock up for a takedown near the fence; this time, Lima uses double underhooks and a trip to put the challenger on his back. A spinning kick from Koreshkov misses but creates some space from Lima, who eats an uppercut from the challenger as the round enters its final two minutes. Lima chops the lead leg with a kick, gets clubbed with another uppercut followed by a straight right. Koreshkov spins into range with another whiffed kick and holds Lima on the fence again with underhooks. The welterweights move to the center of the cage, then Koreshkov reclaims it and backs up Lima with a right hand. Another takedown lands for Koreshkov at the fence, and again Lima sits up with his back on the chain-link. Koreshkov, now bleeding from his nose, flattens out Lima and tries to isolate his left arm while throwing frustrating right hands up top. While he’s focused on the arm, Lima sweeps out from underneath and gets back to his feet. Koreshkov goes straight after the champ’s legs, not allowing Lima to escape and holding him on the fence with two minutes left in the round. Referee MacDonald isn’t seeing enough work in the clinch, so he resets the welterweights with 1:40 on the clock. Lima blocks a right high kick, gets a right hand in the gut and then gets taken down by a Koreshkov single near the middle of the cage. Lima throws up a triangle, but it’s quickly tossed aside by Koreshkov, who swings a few elbows through Lima’s guard but mainly stays heavy on top in the final minute.

Round 4

Koreshkov presses forward on Lima in the opening minute of the championship rounds, hitting him with a leg kick and a stiff jab which snaps back the Brazilian’s head. Lima is increasingly on his back foot, offering fewer counters while Koreshkov ups his striking volume. Koreshkov lands a loud kick to the gut of Lima and shoots in behind it for yet another high-crotch single-leg takedown. The welterweights are dead center in the cage, and it looks like Koreshkov would like to keep the action there to avoid Lima using the cage to stand. Referee MacDonald calls for action, and Lima responds by hooking a leg and sweeping Koreshkov underneath. Seconds later, Koreshkov has driven forward and put Lima on his back again. With 65 seconds left, Lima sweeps back to top position and tries to push down Koreshkov’s head to set up a choke. Koreshkov backs up Lima with a push kick, takes a jab from the champ and replies with a stiff left hand of his own. Lima stuffs a long single-leg and dings Koreshkov with an overhand right; the challenger comes right back with a right hand over the top, then clinches against the fence as the fight enters its final three minutes. Lima tries to get his back off the fence, but it takes 30 seconds before he’s able to deck Koreshkov with an elbow and break away.
