Michael Chandler and Eddie Alvarez will do battle once more on Saturday. Both men were cleared to compete in their Bellator 106 rematch at Friday’s weigh-in, with Chandler checking in at 154.8 pounds and Alvarez tipping the scales at 154.5. Chandler took Alvarez’s lightweight title in a “Fight of the Year” nominee two years ago, submitting the 29-year-old with a fourth-round rear-naked choke at Bellator 58. Both men have gone undefeated since their memorable encounter, with Chandler successfully defending his title against Rick Hawn and David Rickels this year.

Bellator 106 takes place at the Long Beach Convention Center in Long Beach, Calif., and will also see Pat Curran (144.8) defend his featherweight title against Daniel Straus (144.2). Five fights are slated for the Spike TV-broadcast main draw, which will additionally feature an interim light heavyweight title collision between Muhammed Lawal (204.1) and Emanuel Newton (203.4) and the “Fight Master” welterweight final pitting Joe Riggs (170.7) against Mike Bronzoulis (171).
