Bellator 103 headliners Patricio Freire and Fabricio de Assis Costa da Silva were both cleared to compete at Thursday’s pre-fight weigh-ins, checking in at 145.6 and 146 pounds, respectively.
The winner of Freire’s clash with “Guerreiro” will collide with either Justin Wilcox (145) or Joe Taimanglo (145) in the Season 9 tournament finals. In addition to the featherweight semis, Bellator 103 will also showcase a light heavyweight clash pitting UFC veteran Aaron Rosa (205.8) against Mikhail Zayats (205), as well as a lightweight battle between former title challenger David Rickels (155.7) and J.J. Ambrose (155).

Better known as Patricio “Pitbull,” Freire has fought ferociously since his split decision defeat to featherweight champion Pat Curran this past January, knocking out Jared Downing this past June before doing the same to ex-UFC talent Diego Nunes in the Season 9 quarterfinals last month.
In “Guerreiro,” Freire faces a 23-year-old prospect who has lost just once in his last eight outings. The Brazilian owns 12 of his 19 career wins via submission and last competed on Sept. 13, when he outpointed Desmond Green to advance in the featherweight bracket.
