Carvalho (13-4, 0-0 UFC) will carry a three-fight winning streak into his promotional debut. The 32-year-old last fought in June, when he defeated UFC veteran Douglas Evans by unanimous decision under the Score Fighting Series banner at the Hershey Centre in Mississauga, Ontario, Canada. Meanwhile, Team Quest representative Ian Loveland will lock horns with WEC transfer Yves Jabouin in a preliminary duel at 135 pounds.

Loveland (14-8, 1-1 UFC) has won seven of his past eight fights. The 27-year-old Gresham, Ore., native last competed at UFC 128 in March, when he dropped a unanimous decision to former WEC bantamweight title contender Joseph Benavidez at the Prudential Center in Newark, N.J. Six of Loveland’s eight career defeats have come via submission.

An explosive standup fighter, Jabouin has recorded 11 of his 15 professional wins by knockout or technical knockout. The 32-year-old Haitian-born Canadian last appeared at UFC 129 in April, when he succumbed to a flying triangle choke from Pablo Garza at the Rogers Centre in Toronto. Jabouin trains under Firas Zahabi at the Tristar Gym in Montreal.

UFC 134 will mark the promotion’s first trip to Brazil in more than a decade. The event will feature a middleweight title bout between longtime champion Anderson Silva and world-ranked challenger Yushin Okami. The 29-year-old Okami defeated Silva by disqualification at a Rumble on the Rock show in 2006. Silva has 14 consecutive fights since.
