Jorge Rivera

Jorge Rivera is the man who beat the man, who beat the man. One of the men is tomorrow's opponent, Mark "The Wizard" Weir. The other man is David Loiseau, who beat Weir and then lost to Rivera. Quietly spoken and introverted, Jorge Rivera is a man of few words. Sherdog.com asked for some of them.

Sherdog: Hi Jorge, how are you feeling right now?

Jorge: I'm 100% healthy. Feeling fine.

Sherdog: Your opponent is Mark Weir. Have you seen him fight?

Jorge: Yes I have. I've seen videos - studied his game.

Sherdog: What do you think of him?

Jorge: I think he's fast. Quick. Knowledgeable.

Sherdog: How's the fight tomorrow going to go down?

Jorge: I can't see into the future! I'll try to keep it standing. I want to knock him out.

Sherdog: Can you beat his record for the fastest KO?

Jorge: I don't think so, but I'm in no rush to beat him. I'll take it how it comes, when it comes. I just want to win.

Sherdog: If you don't mind me bringing this up, how did you feel about your match with Lee Murray in the UFC? What went wrong? Do you feel that a win against a fellow Englishman like Mark will help you get a rematch?

Jorge: No, it's not personal to me. I just want to be the best in my weight class. I'll fight the best, and I would like a rematch with Lee, whether it's here or the UFC or wherever. I shouldn't have taken the fight to the ground with him. I like to bang and I should have just played my game.
