UFC Fight Night 111 Weigh-in Results: Holly Holm, Bethe Correia On Point

The Ultimate Fighting Championship will be visiting Singapore on Saturday with an intriguing fight card. Anchoring the bill, which goes down at Singapore Indoor Stadium in Kallang, is a matchup between a former world champion and one-time world title challenger.

Holly Holm, among the few all-time great women boxers, has fallen on hard times inside the Octagon. “The Preacher’s Daughter” sent shockwaves through the sport of mixed martial arts in November 2015 when she tore apart then-unbeaten Ronda Rousey before head-kicking her into oblivion to capture the UFC women’s bantamweight crown. But Holm was choked out by Miesha Tate, lost a unanimous decision to Valentina Shevchenko and then a hotly-disputed points loss to Germaine de Randamie. To say that Holm needs a win would be an understatement and she looked superb at the weigh-ins on Friday. Holm tipped the scale officially at 135 pounds for what is now the most critical fight of her entire career.

Bethe Correia will be the woman standing across the Octagon from Holm and like the American, “Pitbull” needs a win. The Brazilian similarly tore through the ranks en route to a showdown with Rousey, but “Rowdy” Ronda knocked her out in just 34 seconds. A split decision loss to Raquel Pennington followed but Correia rebounded with a split nod triumph over Jessica Eye. After battling to a draw with Marion Reneau the last time out, Correia is as desperate as her upcoming foe. Looking as if she was molded from marble, Correia came in officially at 136, giving their showdown the green light.

UFC Fight Night 111 “Holm vs. Correia” will air exclusively on UFC Fight Pass. Since it will air live from Singapore, the stream will begin at 4:30 a.m. ET/ 1:30 a.m. PT.
