Here’s our Top 5 Picks for undercard “Fights of the Night”/”Best Bet”-
1. TJ Dillashaw vs. Raphael Asuncao- Former Bantamweight Champion Dillashaw (12-3-0) is coming off a devastating loss to Dominick Cruz and looking to get back to a title fight by taking on tough Brazilian Asuncao (23-4-0). Dillashaw is one of the most athletic and exciting American fighters to ever come along and always a “Fight of the Night” candidate thanks to his lightning speed, skills and KO power.
Asuncao is a Muy Thai grinder who likes to bring the pressure and will likely be looking to mix it up with the American in the center of the ring.
This bantamweight scrap looks like real dynamite so don’t go to the kitchen for a sandwich if you wanna see somebody blow up!
At -385 we like favorite Dillashaw as the safe bet to reestablish his power and look out for the fat +320 on an Under 2 ½ round finish.
2. Jose Aldo vs. Frankie Edgar- Can the 29 year-old Brazilian legend Aldo overcome his shocking 13 second, one-punch KO defeat to the Irishman McGregor and climb back to the top of the featherweight division?
UFC Veteran Frankie Edgar stands in his way.
At 34, Edgar has nothing to prove after a career filled with heart-pounding victories (and a few defeats) against the toughest the division has ever had to offer. The All-Action Edgar now steps back into the octagon versus one of the best ever.
Smart money has to be on the younger Aldo at -104 to reclaim his former glory.
3. Diego Sanchez vs. Joe Lauzon- Both men are riding high and looking to stake a claim to the 155 lb title. Sanchez is a monster who is back at Lightweight while Lauzon just seems incapable of providing anything other than an exciting, all-out action bout every time he climbs in the cage.
This one is action money in the bank and odds are running even.
Toss-up/Pick ‘em with both fighters currently at -107!
4. Northcutt vs. Marin- Golden Boy Northcutt was fighting his way to the top with his freakish athletic skills until his ground game was exposed in New Jersey in February. He now looks to restart his climb against unheralded Spaniard Marin who is temporarily blocking his path.
Marin looks like a perfect opponent for Northcutt and may be in the wrong place at the wrong time.
Take the Under 1 ½ round +265 and Northcutt to end Marin with an early TKO.
5. Hunt vs. Lesnar- The goofy novelty match of the night has the monstrous “sports entertainment” legend Lesnar showing up for a fat paycheck against the dead serious KO Artist extraordinaire, Mark Hunt.
This is the lock of the night so bet the farm on Hunt’s thunderous right hand to send Lesnar back to wherever it is the massive MMA pretender belongs.
With Hunt currently at -170 we can’t wait to see Hunt put Lesnar’s UFC “career” to sleep!
UFC 200 in Las Vegas promises to be a rumble to remember with plenty of fireworks all night long so strap in and save us a seat.
We’ll bring the cold ones!
