It was the first five round non-title bout in UFC history, but Mark Munoz made sure that his middleweight tussle with Chris Leben at UFC 138 didn't last nearly that long.
The bout was stopped before the third frame began, allowing Munoz to set his sights on the 185-pound title. Here's a by-the-numbers look at UFC 138, with statistics provided by FightMetric.com.
27: Significant strikes by which Munoz outlanded Leben, the second greatest difference of any fight in Munoz's UFC tenure. He outlanded Aaron Simpson by 33 significant strikes at UFC 123.
5: Number of takedowns that Munoz landed against Leben, a career high for "The Filipino Wrecking Machine." Despite his highly-touted wrestling pedigree, Munoz's takedown accuracy in the UFC remains at 23 percent.
2: Technical knockout losses in the last three fights for Leben, who had only one such loss in his previous 27 appearances.
28: The number of power strikes landed by Leben in his last three fights combined. "The Crippler," who is 1-2 over that span, averaged 49 significant strikes landed in the three bouts before that.
17: Consecutive victories for rising Brazilian prospect Renan Barao since his 2007 showdown with Claudemir Souza ended in a no contest.
6: Years since Barao suffered his only loss in his professional MMA debut against Joao Paulo Rodrigues de Souza.
18: Percentage of significant strikes that Brad "One Punch" Pickett landed against Barao.
46-45-2: Combined record of Papy Abedi's opposition before he made his UFC debut against Thiago Alves, good for a winning percentage of .505. Alves, a former No. 1 contender at welterweight, is now 19-8, a 70 percent winning clip.
164: Low kicks landed by Alves in his career after connecting with five against Abedi. That total is good for No. 2 all time in the UFC, 25 behind Forrest Griffin.
2: Submission triumphs for Alves in a professional mixed martial arts career that spans 27 fights and more than 10 years. When he made Abedi tap to a rear-naked choke in the first round, it was his first such victory in the UFC. He made Jason Chambers submit to punches at Ironheart Crown 8: "Ethereal" in Hammond, Ind., in 2004.
75: Percentage of victories that have come via submission for Australian Anthony Perosh, who is a 10-time Brazilian jiu-jitsu national champion in his home country. Perosh bested kickboxing specialist Cyrille Diabate with a rear-naked choke in the second round of their light heavyweight affair for his second straight win in the Octagon.
46: Strikes-landed percentage for Diabate against Perosh, well off his career rate of 68 percent.
29: Difference in seconds between Terry Etim's previous fastest documented submission win (46 seconds vs. Edgars Podnieks in 2006) and his 17-second finish of Edward Faaloloto. It's also the second fastest guillotine in UFC history behind Oleg Taktarov's nine-second choke on Anthony Macias.
1,505: Days between Michihiro Omigawa's UFC debut -- a unanimous decision setback against Matt Wiman at UFC 76 -- and his first-ever win inside the Octagon against Jason Young. The former Sengoku Raiden Championship featherweight grand prix finalist outpointed Young by identical 29-28 scores.
3: Victories for Che Mills in which he has used a knee to score a knockout or technical knockout.
0: Times British heavyweight Philip De Fries had gone the distance in his professional career prior to locking horns with countryman Rob Broughton in his UFC debut. Before getting the nod from the judges against Broughton on Saturday night, De Fries had earned his previous seven victories by submission.
5: Finishes in five main-card fights. No other UFC card in 2011 has seen more than four featured bouts avoid the judges on a given night.
$280,000: Cash bonuses handed out by the UFC for "Fight of the Night" (Brad Pickett-Renan Barao), "Knockout of the Night" (Che Mills) and "Submission of the Night" (Terry Etim).
