The Walkmen: UFC Fight Night 148 Walkout Tracks

Mike SloanMar 23, 2019

The Ultimate Fighting Championship on Saturday returned to Nashville, Tennessee, and the UFC Fight Night 148 main event saw a pair of fan favorites put it all on the line. However, The Walkmen is always about the music, and the roster of songs was a little heavier than usual on the guitar.

Stephen Thompson came to battle with his usual track, which ties into his nickname: the comical “Wonderboy” from Tenacious D. His headliner counterpart, Anthony Pettis chose to walk to combat while backed by “Middle Child” from J Cole. Meanwhile, the co-main event participants went with some interesting choices, as Curtis Blaydes called upon the “Mortal Kombat Theme Song” and Justin Willis settled on “Ambitionz az a Ridah” from Tupac and “DNA” from Kendrick Lamar.

Several of the other fighters on the card leaned heavier on rock and punk. Two combatants used classic rock legends Led Zeppelin, with “Black Dog” (Marlon Vera) and “Kashmir” (Bobby Moffett); two others went with Rage Against the Machine, with “Calm Like a Bomb” (Frankie Saenz) and “Know Your Enemy” (Alexis Davis); and Angela Hill opted to go with “Skulls” from Misfits.
