The Walkmen: All UFC on ESPN 30 Walkout Tracks

The Ultimate Fighting Championship ran its 30th show on “The Mothership” Saturday at the Apex in Las Vegas, and brought with it 12 bouts and 24 fighters, each with their own taste in entrance music.

Standout tracks included Nas and Damian Marley’s “Strong will Continue” as utilized by Edson Barboza and Xorurni’s “Georgian Folk Dance,” which was selected by co-headliner Giga Chikadze.

Also of note, the UFC again allowed a fighter (Micheal Gillmore) to make his cagewalk to a Jason Aldean song, as Dana White infamously raged on the country music artist, stating, “F-ck you Jason Aldean. Stay out of Vegas.”

Nearly three years ago in October 2017, a mass shooting in Las Vegas killed 59 and injured hundreds. Aldean was on stage when the shooter, armed with multiple semiautomatic rifles fitted with now federally-banned bump stocks, opened fire. White and the UFC reached out to Aldean to perform at the first UFC event in Las Vegas following the incident, which was dedicated to the memory of those who died and featured 1,500 first responders and 15 survivors in the crowd at T-Mobile Arena. Instead, Aldean performed on NBC’s “Saturday Night Live” the same evening.

“His image was more important then coming back to Vegas and playing for the people who are his fans and who got shot watching him play,” White told TMZ.

“Country music was attacked. Those were country music fans,” White continued. “Those are people who buy your albums and none of you country music people could sing the anthem in front of survivors and first responders?”
