The Insane Prop Bets of UFC Fight Night 138

UFC 230 is now available on Amazon Prime.

UFC Fight Night 138 was a card full of upsets and whenever a bunch of underdogs win, usually a variety of juicy prop bets also come through. There were a number of lucrative prop bets available to bet on at UFC Moncton, and below are the five most insane prop bets that cashed.

Anthony Smith wins in round 3 (+1150)

The main event of the evening saw Anthony Smith pick up the biggest win of his career to date when he submitted Volkan Oezdemir in the third round with a rear-naked choke. Oezdemir beat Smith to the punch in the first two rounds but gassed out in the third and Smith took advantage of it as he was able to get the fight to the ground and sink in the fight-ending submission. The prop on Smith winning by submission hit at a robust +800, but even crazier was the prop on Smith winning in the third round, which hit at massive +1150 odds.

Sean Strickland wins in round 2 (+1600)

One of the top performances of the night came from Sean Strickland, who brutally knocked out Nordine Taleb in the second round. It was the ninth win of his pro career by knockout, but just the second of his Ultimate Fighting Championship run dating back to 2015, so naturally the odds on it happening were sky-high. The props on Strickland winning inside the distance at +650 and Strickland winning by TKO at +1300 both cashed at huge odds, but the prop on Strickland winning in the second round was even crazier at +1600, a huge boost to the bankroll of anyone who was smart enough to bet it.

Nasrat Haqparast wins by decision (+328)

An entertaining lightweight bout saw Nasrat Haqparast earn a decision win over Thibault Gouti, who somehow was able to survive the full three rounds despite taking a ton of damage in the fight. Haqparast was a huge moneyline favorite to get the win and most bettors expected him to finish the fight, so the prop on him winning a decision went undervalued at a tidy +328.

Calvin Kattar wins in Round 1 (+550)

Featherweight Calvin Kattar showed why he’s a top-15 fighter at his weight class, as he moved to 3-1 in the UFC with a brutal first-round TKO win over Octagon newcomer Chris Fishgold. Kattar had to withstand an early onslaught from Fishgold, but after he weathered the early storm he was able to clip Fishgold with a punch behind the ear that knocked him down, finishing him off with vicious ground-and-pound as referee Yves Lavigne was forced to jump in and stop the fight. The prop on Kattar winning by TKO was nice at +350, but the prop on Kattar winning in the first round was even bigger as it cashed at +550.

Don Madge wins in round 2 (+1700)

One of the most insane props on the entire card to come through was Don Madge beating Te’ Edwards in the second round. Not only was Madge a huge underdog on the moneyline. but all of the props on him were available at crazy odds as well as few gave Madge a chance to win this fight. Of course, Madge flipped the script and showed everyone why he’s a special talent with a ridiculous second-round head kick KO. The props on Madge winning inside the distance at +725 and Madge winning by TKO at +950 were both big winners, but the crown jewel of the Madge props was him winning in the second round, which cashed out at monster +1700 odds.
